4.0 out of 5 stars A Feel Good Story!, March 19, 2009
This review is from: Moments of Clarity (Indigo) (Paperback)
Sasha Diamond just caught her boyfriend of two years cheating on her. She is pretty much done with relationships after that, but Sexton Johnson has other plans. Sexton is an NBA star that is ready to settle down. He said that his mother told him what to look for in a woman, and Sexton has found it in Sasha. Of course when everything is going good, something has to go wrong. The question is, how will Sasha handle the drama having been betrayed before?

Moments Of Clarity was a feel good book. The characters were "real" and very relatable. I also enjoyed the fact that Cameron portrayed a different side of an NBA star since the media usually glorifies what they are doing wrong. She shows the guy who wants to be married and be a family man...the good guy side.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thunderstorms, February 22, 2009
This review is from: Moments of Clarity (Indigo) (Paperback)
A year prior, Sexton Johnson, a NBA player, and Sasha Diamond, a nurse, crossed paths. While he immediately showed interest, Sasha was already involved and preferred monogamy. An early morning fight and a bout with differences seems to be the key that unlocks Pandora's Box. Could this be a silver lining?

MOMENTS OF CLARITY is a fiery romance dripping with distrust and treachery. I enjoyed the characters and the story had a good flow. A great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars No More Rose-colored Glasses, January 28, 2009
This review is from: Moments of Clarity (Indigo) (Paperback)
Sasha Diamond was first introduced in Never Say Never by Michele Cameron, where she was a sassy and eccentric, secondary character. In Cameron's latest release, Sasha is the main character and while we are getting a better view of her life, she is also learning more about herself in Moments of Clarity.

Sasha is aware that her boyfriend, Abdul, is simply a place holder in her love life, but when she realizes that he is cheating on her, she cut all ties. When her path crosses that of Sexton Johnson, a professional basketball player, Sasha has a preconceived notion and attempts to ignore his advances. While coming to grips with her attraction to Sexton, Sasha also tries to be patient with her best friend, Tiara, who is having a major life crisis. Will Sasha allow her friend's problems to tarnish the relationship Sexton and she are trying to build? Or will she make hasty decisions and lose him forever?

These characters really go through it. The emotions and quick reactions to the actions of others created the tension and climax. The plot is well developed as are the characters. The editing needed to be polished, but the story was so good I did not deduct from my rating. I recommend Moments of Clarity to romance lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love worth waiting for., January 12, 2009
This review is from: Moments of Clarity (Indigo) (Paperback)
Moments of Clarity featured Sasha and Sexton. Sexton was smitten with her from the beginning. However Sasha was in a relationship with Abdul that was going nowhere. Sasha and Sexton finally get together. However there are obstacles in the way. The main obstacle being her so called best friend Tiara.
After a few ups and downs and misunderstanding, Sasha and Sexton were able to find their way back to one another.

4.0 out of 5 stars AAMBC Reviews, January 8, 2009
This review is from: Moments of Clarity (Indigo) (Paperback)
To me this story was funny. Not in the sense that it was used for my comic relief but, in the sense that some scenarios, and situations were so realistically Bizarre that it could bring out a few chuckles. When Sasha meets Sexton she's in the "Tail-End" of a relationship she knows is bad but wont admit it. Just like any time you hold on a burger when prime rib is pretty much offered to you on a silver platter, that Burger lets you down. When this Happens Sasha's Prime Rib Sexton hadn't gone to far and was more then ready and willing to make that offer again. Then The Green eyed monster is awakened when Sasha's best friend Tiara Marriage falls apart and she starts acting a plum fool endangering everything she has Built with Sexton.. This is a great story about Love, Sacrifices, and Choices. Sasha Made The Right Choice between The Burger and Prime Rib but What Happens When The Prime Rib and Bestfriend go head to head for her attention?

5.0 out of 5 stars A Man and woman of Clarity, January 2, 2009
This review is from: Moments of Clarity (Indigo) (Paperback)
I first met Sasha (and her sense of humor) in her _Never Say Never_, which introduced the interracial romance between her sister Desiree and Tyler.

However, in _Moments of Clarity_ Sasha's romance take front stage. Both Sasha and Sexton Johnson are two characters that experience (although unwilling at first) their own moments of clarity.

I thought the tension between Sasha and her best friend Tiara was very real; something myself and other women have experienced. Also, Sexton's struggle to deal with certain family issues is something that many adopted children deal with every day.

Sasha and Sexton's love story is one that is real! It is one where Cameron gives us an image of a true and viable romance. I appreciate Cameron's focus on romance, love, and passion. Many authors lose this when they focus on unrealistic plots and characters who don't seem real.

All praises to Michelle Cameron for Moments of Clarity. I look forward to her next true romance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good Moment of Clarity, December 14, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Moments of Clarity (Indigo) (Paperback)
This was a good book. I read this book in a day and did not regret the time I spent reading it instead of doing things around the house. Sexton and Sasha were really good together. Sexton was a very patient man and a role model for many men to follow. There are such negtaive sterotypes for NBA players. I was happy to read a book that does not play to those sterotypes so much so that I found myself getting really mad with Sasha for not trusting in him more when it really counted. The author did a good job pulling me in and making this story so believable. I could see myself going all out for my friends and not seeing through the jealously right away. Thank goodness for Sasha's sisters; they kept her from making a big mistake. I was a bit confused about Calvin; I never figured out if he was gay or in love with Sasha, the author left it unsaid.

This is a feel good romance with just enough realism to make me feel there is someone out there for everyone and you should never judge a book by it's cover. The supporting charcters are great and add to the story line instead of taking away from it. I highly recommend this story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wait For Love, November 12, 2008

The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Moments of Clarity (Indigo) (Paperback)
Sasha Diamond, full-figured, beautiful and ambitious, knew what she wanted out of life. As a child, her parents taught her hard work and perseverance would pay off. So she worked hard as a nurse with demanding hours. But, when it came to the affairs of the heart, Sasha had her heart broken a few times. Her latest heartbreak was from her ex-boyfriend Abdul, a not-so ambitious store owner who was caught in a compromising position with his "play cousin".

Basketball star Sexton Johnson grew up in foster homes for most of his young life and was abused by the other foster children. To take refuge from his troubled home environment, he often played basketball at the Boys and Girls Club, where he met a basketball coach named Teddy. Teddy took him home one day and told his parents of the abuse Sexton suffered at home and soon they adopted him. His adopted parents taught him to be honest, respectful and kind to others; attributes he carried into adulthood.

Sexton was intrigued by Sasha after meeting her for the first time at her best friend Tiara's party, but Sasha didn't show any signs of interests toward him. They saw each other again a year later and for the first time Sasha noticed him. Immediately, a sensual attraction so strong develops, that neither of them can wait to be in each other's arms. After a night of heated passion, they both knew they had found their soul mate. Sasha and Sexton spend every waking moment together; however, someone close to them is trying to come between them.

MOMENTS OF CLARITY is an explosive read with romance, jealousy, trust, deceit and sexual energy. The characters were very well developed and believable. The story flowed smoothly throughout the entire book enticing me to get to the end. A great read for readers of the romance genre.

CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE |4| Marguerite Lemons

REVIEW: Sasha Diamond is a registered nurse who has a problem picking the right guy. She also has an overbearing and needy best friend, Tiara, who does not have her best interests at heart. Sexton Johnson is an up and coming NBA star and it's love at first sight when he meets Sasha at a party, but Sasha is uninterested. When the two meet again one morning after she has an argument with her boyfriend, their attraction to one another is intense. When they finally get together, Sasha keeps allowing doubt, fear, and her best friend get in the way. Will Sasha conquer her fears and doubts or will she chose her best friend over the love of a lifetime?

Sasha's character is smart, independent, caring, and prone to making snap judgments without thinking of the consequences. I like this character, but her behavior began to get on my nerves as she continued to allow herself to be drawn back into Tiara's mess even though she knew it was time to cut the ties. Sexton's character is down to earth, caring and extremely patient. I don't know of too many men who would have put up with Sasha or Tiara's mess as long as he did. Sasha really had some growing up to do and I'm glad that she was able to realize her mistakes, with a little help from her sisters, and accept responsibility for her actions. I liked the fact that Sexton was able allow Sasha to make her mistakes and in time forgive her.

MOMENTS OF CLARITY is a moderately paced story of love and betrayal that is set in New York. I love the way Ms. Cameron has Sasha's character deal with her cheating boy friend without a lot of unnecessary drama, and how she eventually handled the demise of Sasha and Tiara's relationship. The characters all had enough internal and external relationship drama to keep this story interesting and moving.

Ms. Cameron's sequel to NEVER SAY NEVER is an entertaining read. I recommend it.
