Book Description

July 2001

The question that I want this book to ultimately address is not, do a lot of people really experience Moments of Grace? The question is, what do people who experience them do afterward?

Some people brush them aside, write them off, keep quiet about them, even try to forget them. Others, like the folks in this book, share them freely, so that people everywhere may be inspired by them, may learn from them, may come to remember something they've always known. I have an idea that those who do so are helping to heal the world.

So, my friends, it's time to come out of the closet. It's time to wave our hands, to tell our stories, to shout our truth, to reveal our innermost experiences, and let those experiences raise eyebrows. Because raised eyebrows raise questions.

We must share our stories about the sacred things we know, which we have learned in the most sacred moments of life. For it is in these sacred moments, these Moments of Grace, that sacred truths are made real for the entire culture. And it is in the living of its most sacred truths that a culture advances as the universe evolves, and in the failure to live those truths that a culture expires.

--Neale Donald Walsch

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

"This book is a huge hug for God ... about moments in our lives when God steps into our lives and gives us a great big hug." Some might label the heart-rending stories in this book as acts of synchronicity or coincidence, but author Neale Donald Walsch calls them moments of grace--"those times when God intervenes in our lives in very real, very direct, and very visible ways." Walsch is renowned for his enormously popular Conversations with God series, which encourage a friendship-like intimacy with God. He builds upon that intimacy in this collection of real-life stories, which he gathered from everyday folks. The settings and situations range from hitchhiking a lonely highway to discovering a teenage daughter who's cut her wrists to finding a gay support group. Every story features a turning point or a seemingly chance encounter that seems to be divinely orchestrated. After recounting the stories, Walsch offers a brief commentary that emphasizes the intimacy and availability of God. This is an unabashed feel-good, feel-God kind of book--highly inspirational and a tad schmaltzy. Some will find the tone a bit smothering, but fans of the CWG series will probably find it touching. --Gail Hudson

From the Inside Flap

From every corner of the Earth, from all cultures and walks of life, people who have read the Conversations with God books have written to Neale Donald Walsch about their own experiences of God’s presence in their lives. Always extraordinary and sometimes miraculous, these stories demonstrate the widespread commonality of such occurrences.

Those who share their personal experiences of God represent a collective voice for the emergence of spirituality as an integral part of everyday life. Together, they say to the world: Look, this happens more often and to more of us than is commonly believed. Experiencing God is not just confined to biblical characters who lived two thousand years ago, or to the occasional saint. It happens everywhere, all the time.

Neale Donald Walsch has woven these stories into Moments of Grace, and links them seamlessly into the concepts and messages presented in the Conversations with God books. Here are ordinary people telling the truth about their experiences. The promise of this book is that you, too, can experience miracles in your life. If you have eyes to see, here’s the proof.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!!!, June 19, 2001

This review is from: Moments of Grace (Hardcover)
Random house dictionary defines a parable as: a short story designed to convey a truth or moral lesson. And that is exactly what Neale Donald Walsch's latest book "Moments of Grace" is all about. It conveys the divine truth given to Neale in the previous installments of the "With God" series, to its readers and truth seekers. Through real life examples, or parables, readers of the "With God" series have submitted accounts of their moments of Grace.

Neale continues in the great tradition of Jesus, who often spoke in parables to teach and reinforce his lessons of spiritual mastery. The prevailing wisdom is that many of us understand something new with much more clarity when we don't just hear/read about it, but actually see it.

"Moments of Grace" has given me a better grasp on the message Neale has been sending us. Not only does it give us reason to strengthen our faith in the divine, and using the divine, but it shows us by example exactly how.

This book shows us that God's Love is with us always, All Ways. Sometimes we need only to wake up to this truth, other times God wakes us up to this truth. I highly recommend that everyone buy and read this book and recommend it to others.

I thank Neale, and all those in the book, for having the courage to grace the world with these stories- Moments of Grace!

5.0 out of 5 stars Walsch writes another gem, July 24, 2001

A major theme in Walsch's "Conversations with God" series is the idea that God and humans are in constant contact. The only thing preventing that communication is our unwillingless to listen or our own doubt. Walsch presents interesting stories from real people who believe that they've experienced connection with a force greater than they, one which lovingly directs them to revelations and helps them with crisis and tragedy.

Even if you are new to Walsch's books (I strongly recommmend is "Conversations with God" series, Books 1-3), the stories of these every day people stand alone, and confirm that God is always talking, always communicating. Those who listen and trust are blessed with their own Moment of Grace.

This is an wonderful book, full of heartwarming stories of how God can touch every person's life. Neale gives narrative between stories on how his "With God" series relates to each persons experience. A must read for all, even if you have not read the CWG books.
