Another excellent concert on PBS,

This is another of the My Music concert series seen on PBS (and it is in color). I found it very enjoyable and entertaining, especially Roger Williams' innovative performance of Autumn Leaves, and these concerts are of great historical value, as more and more real entertainers pass in to the next room and leave us forever. If you enjoy the music of the fifties and family entertainment, then you will enjoy this DVD.
Performances: Moments to Remember and Down By the Riverside - Four Lads Heart of My Heart and Tell Me Why - Four Aces Allegheny Moon - Patti Page Autumn Leaves - Roger Williams Graduation Day - Four Freshman Domani and Eh Cumpari - Julius LaRosa That's My Desire - Frankie Laine Teach Me Tonight - DeCastro Sisters Try to Remember and Greenfields -Brothers Four Since I Fell for You - Lenny Welch When I Fall in Love - Skyliners Harbor Lights and My Prayer - Herb Reed's Platters Why Don't You Believe Me, My Own True love, and You Belong to Me - The Duprees Bonus song: Come On-a My House - Rosemary Clooney (archival)

I bought this expectin 2 hours of entertainment. Amazon says it's 110 minutes and so does the DVD case. It is, in fact, about an hour. There are two groups that aren't even close to the originals but it's a fun hour. PBS in Los Angeles has produced a lot of 50's and 60's DVDs and all are great in my opinion. I think the highlight of this DVD is a performance by Frankie Lane. He had a stroke prior to this performance and passed away soon after. His few minutes on stage were worth the price of the DVD.

The Golden Hits of the '50s & '60s Live,
This review is from: Moments to Remember: Golden Hits of the '50s and '60s - Live (DVD)
When I buy any DVD, I want to have an idea of what I,m getting. If the tracks are not available I don,t buy & even if the tracks are available I must have the full song. Most of us I dare say have a few songs from certain singers/groups that we look forward to and may end up an alternative song but that's OK as we are collectors. I'm 63 yrs young and look for oldies around the '60s. This DVD does not give me a clue of what is in it. B&W? No indication.
