I wanted begin daily couples' devotionals with my spouse, but didn't think a year-long book would be the best one to start with. We both agreed that this thin, thirty day book would be fine. It takes about 5-10 minutes to do each lesson, which is only two pages long. Each lesson has a short story or life lesson, a question to ask your spouse (ex: Why did you get married?) and something to pray about (ex: give thanks for God's gift of your spouse). We read the pages individually and then discuss the question, although the pages can be read together. The authors made this small devotional with excerpts from their year-long devotional.

I would give this five stars, except for a problem in the editorial review here on Amazon - it leaves out the most important piece of information. The back cover tells us this book is "focused readings chosen from the best-selling Moments Together for Couples." We already own (and love) "Moments Together for Couples" and "Moments with You" by Dennis and Barbara Rainey.

Had I known it was an excerpts book, I would not have purchased it. That's like buying a Greatest Hits album when you already own the whole collection.

My husband and I received this book as a wedding gift. We tried several times to begin the study, which was a little disheartening. The book is written more for older couples who are dealing with different issues than those who are newly married. I would suggest Devotions for a Sacred Marriage for a younger couple.
