I held off on this review because I was taking the M1 on a vacation as my stand alone watch. Now that I have returned from an adventure with it, I can say I tested it thoroughly. The M1 is solidly constructed with good looks. I wore it to the beach, in the water, while exploring and then paired it with a tux at night. It is a very versatile watch for the money.

In the daytime, the watch is easy to read; not so much in the dark. The minute hand is skeletonized with only the point done in luminescent material. The point is easily lost when it is covering any of the 12 hour markers. I was simply unable to find the minute hand without additional lighting in dark conditions. This is ironic given it is supposed to be a diving watch.

Good buy for a knock-around watch in good lighting or for someone just wanting a solid waterproof watch for pool or beach. I will play with it some more, but the second hand issue makes it difficult to seriously rely on right now.

I don't get the review stating that it's hard to read at night. I agree that the glowing part of the minute hand can partially cover the 5 minute markers, but it's still very easy to read once you know your watch. And especially because it really glows brightly. It even glows during an overcast, rainy day here in Vancouver.

It's a great watch. The one I'm using is a decade or so old and a friend lent it to me while waiting for my Momentum Pathfinder to arrive. The hands really have character and they're also easy to read. I like the 24 hour numbers for use in airports. It's been used hard and has proven itself to be a tough watch, but is also attractive in a chunky dive watch kind of way.
