5.0 out of 5 stars Best Watch. Period.
This watch offers fantastic functionality in a very attractive shell. The screw down crown ensures that you won't destroy it with a swim, or some dishes, or snorkeling, or any other water intensive activity. 3.0 out of 5 stars Light, rugged-feeling watch
This watch is a good bargain. I looked at a lot of other watches, and settled on this one because:
- titanium case and band (lightweight is very important to me)
- reasonable size (many chronos I consider too big for my wrist)
- good value (~US $200)
- other reviewers said that St. Moritz has good customer service

There are a couple...

I really like this watch, a nice one, very light with the Ti; not a major name brand (but you save hundreds (or thousands).
It's also a good midrange size, if you don't have huge wrists and arms to fit some of the giant watches out there.
Overall, a nice quality swiss watch you can wear for work, out or for sport.

This watch offers fantastic functionality in a very attractive shell. The screw down crown ensures that you won't destroy it with a swim, or some dishes, or snorkeling, or any other water intensive activity. The alarm button makes using the alarm simpler than on any other alarm watch I own, including digitals. The chronograph is straightforward and even gives a little chirp when you start/stop. The watch is very light (nearly as light as a skagen) thanks to the all titanium construction, and it won't hamper or alter your movements in the least. Another advantage to the titanium is that it tends to adjust to your body temp fairly fast, so no freezing left (or right as the case may be) wrist while you wait for the case to warm up.

The Titan II is tough, versatile and gorgeous, it's a great watch if you like to mix work and pleasure so to speak.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good watch overall, October 10, 2007

I've had this watch a few months now. It looks good. It's durable. I've bumped into a bunch of things with it, and the face has no scratches. It's very light. It's also versatile. I can wear it when dressed formally or to the gym.
My only complaint is that the chronometer hands need to be zeroed often.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best all round watch known to humanity, August 17, 2007
This review is from: Momentum Men's 1M-SP30B0 Titan II Alarm Black Dial Titanium Bracelet Watch (Watch)
The St. Moritz Titan II is the best watch on the face of the earth, bar none. All you folks with R*l*xs, Om*gas, etc, feel free to kick yourselves.

-Durable; I'm not gentle on watches, but this one has handled everything I've thrown at it with grace and style. I've worn it in military environments, playing with the ultimate 5 yr old tomboy, swimming on the beach, doing yard work, etc and I've polished the dull finish on the bracelet a little. The crystal is unscratched despite this treatment.

-Accurate; by an atomic clock repeater, it's good to less than 20 seconds a month.

-Style; refined, understated, professional, classy. It's unobtrusive, goes equally well at a softball game in Alabama or among D.C. insiders, and projects quiet competence, rather than the usual brash vanity and insecurity displayed by folks wearing watches in the 4 to 5 digit price range.

-Comfort; It's easy to forget you're wearing it as it is light and reasonably thin for a chronograph.

-Functionality; HH:MM, Date all the time, the seconds display in the 6 o'clock subdial but can be turned off. The chronograph is a fairly standard analog chronograph arrangement. The alarm can be set with about +/- 6 minutes of precision, but has a 5 minute snooze feature if you don't turn it off and is reasonably loud for a watch alarm. The titanium case and bracelet are non-staining, light, and incredibly durable (and non-ferrous; won't set off metal detectors therefore convenient at airports). The sapphire crystal is scratch-free despite my best efforts. The luminous stuff on the hands and face is adequate without being too bright (like tritium based luminous features),

-Support/service; St. Moritz is fast, responsive, and competent in its support for their product. Their professionalism is second to none.

The single improvement that could be made on this watch is a second time zone display, either with a bezel or a fourth hand (I'd prefer the fourth hand, but the mechanism is pretty complicated already). But the advantage would be minor and probably wouldn't be worth the cost, or in the case of the bezel, the degradation of the elegant appearance.

This watch is described as 'unisex'. That is ill-considered. At a hair under 40mm, this is a small, men's (or small men's) watch, too big and too austere for women anywhere near the average range of wrist size. I've got nothing against a woman choosing to make an austere, anti-foo-foo, non-sparkley, in-yer-face fashion statement, and this watch could work for that, but 'unisex' is misleading.

The St. Moritz is the single best watch I've found, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful light-weight watch, June 6, 2011

The first feeling I got when I received the watch was, "Wow this is really light". The watch has a rugged feel to it too. I love the look of the dial. The only downside is that the bigger second hand is not exactly a second hand but the chronograph second hand. The actual seconds are in the lower smaller dial. The chronograph function works beautifully. The alarm is also an added bonus, although the alarm is not loud enough to wake you up but its a good enough alarm for a reminder. On the whole, a very nice looking, incredibly light watch. The only downside being the confusing second hand.

This watch is a good bargain. I looked at a lot of other watches, and settled on this one because:

- reasonable size (many chronos I consider too big for my wrist)

There are a couple things that irk me about it.
* First, and most importantly, it is not as easy to read in the dark as I would like. The "amazing new material" used to make the dial glow doesn't work very well. If I put it directly under a bright light for a while, then it will glow in the dark. But this shouldn't be necessary when I've been wearing it around all day in the Miami sunshine.
* Secondly, the third large hand, which would normally be a seconds hand on most watches, is used for the chrono. The bottom-most small dial gives the seconds on this watch.
* Thirdly, the movement is not as precise as I would like. Namely that third large hand that should stay stationary at 12 o'clock moves slightly during the course of the day, depending on the time of day.
* Lastly, I am not particularly happy about having to manually set the day of month during months with less than 31 days. Perhaps this is something that few watches do, but I expected it to get this right in non-leap years.

Overall, though, I like it. Seems like St. Moritz stuck to the basics in making this one, and I appreciate that.

2.0 out of 5 stars OK Watch, January 1, 2008
This review is from: Momentum Men's 1M-SP30B0 Titan II Alarm Black Dial Titanium Bracelet Watch (Watch)
I purchased this watch with a black face. Visibility is a problem. The dials and hands tend to blend in with each other making telling time difficult. The watch is on the small side for a man's watch so the date and subdials are tiny. Setting the alarm requires unscrewing the stem.
The alarm may be useful as a reminder but is too soft to wake up an average sleeper.
