5.0 out of 5 stars Makes kids feel good!
I have several of Todd Parr's books. My 2 year old and 5 year old both love them. My 2 year old loves the funny pictures and fast pace. My 5 year old just feels great after we read them. They are full of silly lessons that make kids feel important.

1.0 out of 5 stars Seriously?
Could this book promote more sexist stereotypes? The Daddy Book is all about how some daddy's work at home or far away and the Mommy Book talks about how mom's drive and shop? Feed this one to a GOAT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, Colorful Book..., February 7, 2006

Todd Parr books are so colorful and have great messages attached to them. This book does not disappoint. The pictures are simple and vibrant which really caught my daughter's attention. The message attached is great because it shows diversity among mothers. I recommend all of his books.

My son who is 16 mos old, loves this book. He loves the bright colors and simple drawings and they easily keep his attention. We also have The Daddy Book, The Okay Book and Otto Goes to the Beach and these are the books he always brings to me and my husband for us to read to him.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bright cheerful simple drawings and messages, December 23, 2005

My two young children are drawn to the cheerful childlike drawings in neon colors outlined in black. The book shows various stick figure mommies doing different things. Their faces, clothing and hair have a rainbow of colors. It celebrates the diversity of mothers in a gentle way. I particularly liked the page of "Some mommies work at home." with the mommy holding a mop and broom. It ends with "All mommies want you to be who you are!" That's certainly true for this mommy and the parents who'll like this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great author!, March 20, 2006

We just discovered Todd Parr from a Kindergarten teacher at my school. With a diverse family it is so great to see his work so that my young daughter can see that there are many kinds of families and people.

5.0 out of 5 stars We need more Todd Parrs in the world, February 10, 2008
By
This review is from: The Mommy Book (Hardcover)
All of Todd Parr's books have positive, important messages for children, and they are nicely offset by the kooky, cheery drawings. This one shows a wide range of mommy behavior as normal ("Some mommies work at home, some mommies work in big buildings.") I love reading this to my 2.5 y.o and the daddy book is great as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inclusive but not Preachy, April 10, 2007
This review is from: The Mommy Book (Hardcover)
This is a sweet book. Mommys do all sorts of things, and this is a great book that sneaks diversity in while we're not looking. It's tender and light hearted.

This is a terrific book for children. They would enjoy the fun text and the most colorful pictures. My twelve-month-old daughter loves to look through it and tell stories of her own in her funny baby language. Don't forget "The Daddy Book"!
