4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read, September 6, 2007
This review is from: Mommy, Come Home (Paperback)
One of the hardest decisions we as mothers have to make is whether or not to stay home for our children or be in the workforce. (If we have that option being married.) Thought provoking and to the point. The benefits of being home and perhaps working from home as well to be there for our families is truly great. Mrs. Gillmore says it all. I recommend this for every mother whether you work outside the home or not.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mommy, Come Home, September 10, 2004
This review is from: Mommy, Come Home (Paperback)
Having known Sandy for many years, I can tell you that she has a wonderful family, and has been a trusted friend for over 8 years. This book is very refreshing, and I wouldn't hesitate to give it as a baby shower gift to new mom's or any mom who is thinking of staying home to take care of her children rather than working. This book is an easy read, which will entertain you as well as challenge you to follow your heart.

Clearly Sandra's book is genuinely written from the heart. Her writing style brought her thoughts, advice and experiences to life in a way that made reading it almost like a conversation. This seems like the "right book at the right time". Many are finding that the agenda of the militant activists is actually not fulfilling and rewarding. Sandra's workable alternative may well reach those who are looking for a realistic alternative.

5.0 out of 5 stars God Works Wonders, August 18, 2004
This review is from: Mommy, Come Home (Paperback)
I have been a working mom for the past 2 l/2 years. My husband and I married in 2003 and we have 5 children between us. Since our youngest was born last year I have wanted to stay at home with my two girls. They were in school so it didn't bother me so much. But Micah was growing up and instead of me being there with my camera, I was at work, 45 minutes away. I also wasn't really enjoying my working conditions. In the midst of making plans for me to stay home, my husband suffered a chemical burn, preventing him from working for a time. Then I got an email from Sandra Gillmore. She asked me to review her book and see if I would be willing to promote it on the website, (Parents for Christ). I emailed her back and said "Sure! I am always interested in parenting books." Mind you I didn't take heed to the title of her book, Mommy, come Home. I also didn't realize at that point that the Lord was gonna smack me with that loving 2X4. Wow! For one Sandra has had 10 children and homeschools them. More importantly, God spoke to me through her book. All the confirmation I had been praying and longing for was there. Yes, I do need to be that stay at home mother for my children.
