About the Author

A writer at heart, Mary Susan has contributed to the book, Bye-Bye Boardroom: Confessions from a New Breed of Stay-At-Home Mom?s? twice featured on the Today Show and a new book ?Mom?s Night Out? being released in 2008. Writing and publishing her own book,?Mommy Magic: Tips for Staying Sane in the Midst of Insanity? has been her passion and a dream come true! Before staying home to raise her three girls, Mary Susan Buhner had a successful and rewarding career in the not-for-profit sector. With a degree in Speech Communication from Indiana University and earning a management certificate in fundraising from the well-respected Center on Philanthropy, she led fundraising efforts for several educational institutions including: Indiana University Foundation, Butler University and Lawrence Township School Foundation. A true extrovert, Mary Susan enjoys traveling, new experiences and adventure. When home she loves gardening, swimming with her girls and reading. She enjoys family activities and being outside ?doing anything active.? Most of all, Mary Susan enjoys the company of those who have a good sense of humor and can laugh at themselves. She has two favorite motto?s that she tries to live by. The first was made famous by Tobias Wolff: ?We are made to persist?that is how we know what we are made of.? The second, less profound, but still relevant is ?Go BIG or go HOME!?

As a new mother to a three month old NOTHING could have prepared me for the joys & challenges of motherhood. After I received my copy of Mommy Magic I could not put it down!! It made me feel so good about myself as a women & mother. It reminded me that I am not in this alone & to enjoy the adventure! The chapter reminding us that motherhood is a marathon & not a sprint is the TRUEST statement I have ever heard!! It's my new mantra! This book is a MUST if you want to hear REAL women share their stories that will make you laugh out loud! BRAVO!

I am now a Grandmother and wish books like this had been around when I had young children. It is refreshing and hits the nail on the head.This author understands chldren and motherhood.
And Ms. Smith with her one star.... I loved the book and I have a advance college degree. I think this is for a person that wants to be the best mother and person and probably strives to do so. So, if you are a mother that wants to learn and live with joy in your heart pick up this book for a fun, fast read,

I LOVED this book! The author does a great job of tapping into "every day life", and helping us all to find the humor and perspective that surrounds every moment. Mommy Magic has become my favorite gift to give my friends who are Moms......it's the perfect way to remind every Mom about the importance of celebrating yourself, and taking time to embrace the joys of life, as a Mom and as a woman.
