My 2 1/2 year old and my 8 month old sons love this DVD. For awhile we were dancing and singing to it everyday. I have had to order the More Playgroup Favorites so that we don't get burnt out on all the songs.

I have a similar complaint about little Jay (the joey in the animated portion). I find him to be VERY annoying-but my kids like him so I can't complain too much.

The DVD has the sing along option, which has the lyrics on screen. This is very handy when you are learning all of the songs for the first time. Since the words change after the first verse, it's helpful to have that feature.

I think it is the perfect length for my boys. It captures their attention spans perfectly. We dance and sing to it together in the mornings and by the end of the half hour we are ready for it to be over.

I highly recommend this to people with toddlers.

As far as toddler videos goes, this one is well put-together, with fair graphics (toddlers don't care!) and great songs. I bought this video because my 2-year-old LOVES his other Mommy and Me video "Splish Splash." However, this one doesn't have as good a structure to it, and it failed to keep his attention. I can't really tell you why he won't watch it, but since he won't, I can't recommend it. I DO recommend "Splish Splash" by Mommy and Me, as he will watch it without distraction for the entire episode!

I bought this DVD when my daughter was just beginning to sit up on her own and she's loved it ever since. At first she would just giggle at the kangaroo characters, now she loves watching the kids dance and interact with the songs. She prefers watching this more than her Baby Einstein video's. Sadly we had to replace this DVD because my hubby had scratched it badly from not putting it back in the case....but that was okay we ended up buying a new one and the other Mommy and Me DVD too.

I highly recommend this DVD. it is basically music playgroup on dvd. My 6 month old loves it as do all his friends...ages 6 months to 2 years old. It is great for those rainy days when we can't go outside. the music is great...all the songs you know and love!!

I originally bought this DVD because I was starting some playgroups for the first time, and wanted to get reacquainted with some of the songs and fingerplays, etc. I played it a couple of times for myself, not realizing that my 14 mos old son was paying attention the whole time. Well, one day when I started singing the DVD theme song, my son hurried over to the tv and pointed to where I keep our DVDs. That was one of the first times that I realized he was making these mental connections. I think this is a great DVD for helping 12-24 month olds grow.

Within a month or two he recognized many of the songs, and often within the first 3 words that he would hear.

At 15-17 months he started imitating the finger plays to many of the songs as well as the more physical movements, like dancing or moving his arms. There were times when my husband and I would ask, WHERE did he get that move from? And then realized it was from the DVD! Now at 20 months he pretty much does everything on the DVD. The DVD is very movement-oriented so it encourages alot of parent-child interaction. In one of the songs the last line is "This is the way we hug our moms, hug our moms, hug our moms," and my son would run over to me to hug me.

I wanted to avoid exposing my son to too much tv but this is the one DVD whose benefits I can actually see. Who knows, maybe he's also learning alot from his Elmo DVDs (which he also loves, but he's often a vegetable in front of those), but if as a parent sometimes you feel like seeing some concrete results of whether or not your kids are getting anything out of what they're watching, in our case, this DVD offered that.

I like this DVD because my son doesn't just zone out into space when he's watching; he's up and moving and dancing the whole time and as he grows I can see how he's picking up more and more from the DVD. And he remembers the songs and the movements, so that anytime we say, "let's dance!" or any time he hears one of the songs from some other source, he'll start dancing. It's great, because right now we don't have him enrolled in any type of formal class and I certainly don't have the creativity to teach him all those moves. It's alot of fun for us to watch as parents too.

I received the Mommy and Me Video in a diaper bag provided by the hospital when I had my second baby, who is now 8 months old. I found it while cleaning out the closet and decided to try my boys. My 2 and a half year old LOVED it! He wanted to watch mommy and me every waking moment! And my 8 month old watched it and would smile every time I put it on and he sits on the floor mezmarized by the whole thing! He also loves to watch my 2 year old run around dancing and singing to the music. He even repeats just about EVERY line from it. It has expanded his vocabulary alot. His favorite is the itsy bitsy spider. I agree that the filler is cheesy but my boys love it so much I am buying the other one right now!

The biggest annoyance for my husband is that little jay has a speech impedament (it sounds like) and pronounces words wrong which makes my son pronounce them wrong. He has since corrected them but it is a bit annoying.

I appreciate my freind told me about these videos. It's a great way for my kids to learn and have fun playing and singing along with me. They want to watch it over and over again. I really recomend these videos. The money you pay(which is nothing) is worth it!!

I am a mom of 3 children and my two youngest absolutely LOVE this DVD. My kids actually pull this DVD out of our large stack of other videos and DVD's as their favorite. I love the music (all the oldies -- you already know most of the words but if you need it, it comes with the lyrics) and we all sing and dance together. It's just like having a Mommy and Me playgroup right at home -- the activities are great!! Can't say enough about this, it's a must have for you moms (or dads) out there.

I am a working parent of a 2 year old toddler. Unfortunately, many times when I get home I really just want to relax and put my feet up - and not interact with my daughter. This video is fantastic for getting us both in the mood to enjoy each other and have a good time. Most videos for kids are not very interactive and fortunately this one is based on being involved in the activities. The songs are great and well known. My daughter LOVES this video and asks me almost every day to play it in the DVD player. I highly recommend this video for everyone, especially working parents trying to find new ways to have fun with their little ones.

i just watched mommy & me and if you have a baby i strongly recommend you try bright bubs DVDs instead. the bright bubs dvds are made for babies first year. it is a fun lively sessions of singing finger play massaging with mummies and babies . the babies in the dvds are all under one year , and the music is carefully selected and played for this age group. mommy and me songs are a bit noisy for my baby's fine and sensitive hearing
please go to the webiste [...] and read about their approach how to incorporate music in baby's development . most of the songs in the session are really short ( we all know our babies attention span ) , incorporating exercises , vestibular movements , tactile and auditory stimulation while siniging , explaining to you why and how every song can help baby's development.
i just cannot recommend them enough for very young babies . and no they are not similar to the mummy and me dvds

also the bright bubs sessions are done in a house in the living room or in a backyard in a very natural environment , so baby is not too distracted and overstimulated by the too many artificial decoration and drawings like in mommy and me sessions , all baby will see is other babies with their mummies in their house like him singing and dancing , music is soft respectful to baby's refined senses .

i don't mean to say this dvd is not good , but i feel it is too loud and too crowded for babies , maybe it is more suitable for preschoolers .
i just felt sorry for that baby among the group trying to follow up on the wheel on the bus song .the same song could be sang in a more apropriate and respectful way for younger babies senses.
