A comfortable way for a toddler to use the potty in an otherwise scary public restroom,
By Mama (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mommy's Helper Cushie Traveler (Baby Product)
I chose this cushioned model over the flat, plastic potty seats because it looked like it was less likely to pinch and would be more comfortable. Going potty in a strange place is already difficult and scary enough for a young potty trainer, I wanted the experience to be as pleasant for her as possible. I've read others' reviews and had to say I was shocked by the bad wrap it's gotten (regarding collapsing). I don't know that this (or any other, for that matter) potty seat has a "weight limit," but I can't imagine what would make this model more likely to collapse than those thin, plastic folding ones. For what it's worth, my daughter is 25lb and doesn't tend to squirm on the potty. That said, my only experience is with this model potty seat, so read my remarks as food for thought.
SIZE: It is thick, but it can still fit in a diaper bag. It takes the space of approximately six diapers. CLEANABILITY: This one is very easy to clean; no nooks & crannies for bacteria to hide. ===UPDATE=== [4/18/2008] YES! We *still* use this item and love it! We're not traveling with it anymore because my daughter is comfortable on public toilets w/out it. By the time she was able/comfortable to go on public pottys and hold on, she was done with her toddler potty and we put this on her toilet at home. (It's just easier/more comfortable for them to go potty with an insert.) But I have to say... the other day I thought I'd get smart and really CLEAN this baby... I decided to soak it in the tub in a bleach/water mix. Well, the screws in the bottom got rusty. It doesn't affect the function at all, it just annoys me to know I rusted the screws because I wasn't thinking about them. Bottom Line: DON'T :SOAK: YOUR SEAT IN BLEACH SOLUTION OR THE SCREWS WILL RUST.

Broke in 2 dropping 28 lb 3 yo into toilet water,
By Mary S. "PinkTerrier" (Cary, NC United States) - See all my reviews

It broke in 2 at the middle fold dropping my 28 lb 3 yo daughter and the booster into the toilet water in our public library.
We had only used it occasionally for a few months. Until it broke it was very good, soft, secure, portable, and easy to clean, with a nice washable bag to store it in - but I think my daughter will now feel less secure on the potty after it broke under her dropping both her and the broken booster into the cold dirty water.

Looks good on paper...,
This review is from: Mommy's Helper Cushie Traveler (Baby Product)
This would be a great idea IF it actually worked well on elongated toilet seats. Most all public restrooms have elongated toilets and I also have elongated toilets at home...doesn't work well at all!!! Slips around and easily. Very unhappy with this purchase. If you only intend to use it on regular size toilets then it's fine. Description of this product should be changed.
