Excellent product! I had been using a towel to keep my daugther's car seat out of sunlight when the car was parked but I decided to try this and I'm so glad I did. It folds up really small for storage and has an elastic and toggle to keep it wrapped up in a smaller parcel. Most importantly, this product WORKS, it does exactly what it's meant to. Previously, when I was using a towel to cover the car seat, the car seat was still hot and the metal buckles were still quite hot to the touch as well. This cover keeps the car seat and buckles cool to the touch. Perfect! It keeps my daughter from being burned by the metal buckles and the uncomfortable feeling of sitting on a hot seat. Not to mention you shouldn't leave a car seat out in direct sunlight as it can damage your car seat. I would think this would cover any car seat on the market. My daughter's car seat is huge and it still fits great over it (I live in the UK so it's a European car seat called a Maxi Cosi Mobi and it's a huge beast!). I highly recommend this product, especially for the hot summer months!

it really does keep the car seat much cooler that the car! i could put my baby right in the car seat and go rather than waiting for 5 minutes until the car cooled down! highly recommend! =)

I bought this sun shade but it got used only once or twice. Mainly because of the inconveniences. I have to put my baby down because it requires both hands to cover the car seat and most of the time I can't but her down and not worry about her running off the street. I wish I just bought those square/rectangle one

I originally purchased one of these for my oldest daughter's car seat in early 2009. At the time, we had a Graco Snugride for her, and this fit just fine over it. We live in Arizona, and keeping the car seat is a must in the heat, and this product did a good job of keeping the car seat warm (instead of flaming hot) and making sure that the buckles didn't burn her when we came back. When she moved on to a big girl car seat (Graco MyRide 65), the shade still fit over it. We've used it now for two years and never had any issues with it tearing, breaking, or losing elasticity around the edges. We just purchased another one for our youngest daughter's car seat, if that tells you anything about how much we like this product! I gave it 4 stars out of 5 instead of 5/5 because it just doesn't fold back up the way the manufacturer claims it does. You just kind of have to ball it up, put the strap around it, and toss it back in the car.

Sometimes it's hard to put a child into a car seat to begin with. To put a child into a scorching hot car seat is even more difficult. This product eliminates that latter situation: at least the car seat isn't too hot! This won't say that the seat will be cold -- it will be significantly cooler than if left in direct sunlight, but it won't be chilled. All in all, good few bucks for a product that is easy-to-use and useful.

This doesn't keep my daughter's carset completely cool from the hot sun, but it does work really well. I live in the hot, humid south & her carseat gets really really hot. Once summer came around, my nearly 2 year old started complaining about her seat & wouldn't get in it b/c it was "too hot"! The buckles on her Britax Roundabout were scorching hot & the seat itself was fairly hot to sit in, especially on her bare legs (which is often the case in the summer!). I tried a blanket but it didn't work. So, for a mere $10 or so, I decided to try this. I still throw a small blanket underneath it to help out just a little more. Without it, her seat is still a bit hot. The little blanket + this sun shade helps just enough. She doesn't complain anymore about her hot seat & doesn't get burned by the buckles anymore. I would've given it 5 stars if i didn't feel that I needed that extra layer underneath it. It could be just a little bit better. But it's worth the $10.

In Vegas this thing comes in soooooo handy. It's saved our little one from a burned bum many times. The only problem is that sometimes we forget to use it.

This car seat cover is wonderful!! It keeps the metal on the buckles cool so I don't have to worry about them burning my baby's skin.

Dont use my car a lot so having the cover on the carseat helps keep the metal buckle from getting too hot. Worth buying if you car sits in the sun for long periods of time.

We have a Britax Boulevard in Black/Onyx fabric style, and it definitely gets hot. I've been using the Mommy's Helper Car Seat Sun Shade for about a week now, and I've noticed a reduction in the surface temperature of the fabric on hot days. It's still warm - I don't think anything will keep it COOL when it's 90+ degrees outside - but it's a definite improvement. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to keep their little one cooler on hot days.
