I have had 4 potty's, this is by far the BEST one. I even bought the Baby Bjorn thinking it would be the best which was wrong. This is the only potty that prevents my son from leaking without a hard deflector to hurt his thighs. I will admit that he really liked his Elmo seat (which had a horrible deflector among other things) so I bought Elmo stickers and stuck them to the very outer edges on the sides and so now he loves this seat as well, sometimes it takes a lot of time waiting for your little one to go and I've noticed that with this seat there are no red marks anywhere on his body from this potty, it is very soft with NO hard seems. And the price is unbelievable.

I bought this because of the good reviews here. Nice soft padded seat, but it's too small & unstable for an oval seat. It looks oval in the pic, but it's more round then oval in person. It is VERY small compared to other soft seats out there.
I think this would be great for kids under age 2 that you were placing on the potty, but my son at 3 is too big & no way would I let him get on it independently. I also would not let him sit on it without my being right there. It's very wobbly. I will spare the details by just saying the hole is too small for all things to fit through :)
I found a 3-1 potty with a removable soft seat that is working better for us now.
In summary. Perhaps good for a girl who is small & will have a mom holding her on it.

This product is great! my daughter (29 months) loved it at first glance. The duckies are cute and the size is perfect. It is a cushie seat that is secure and comfortable. She won't use any other toilet. I also have the first years' seat with the handles on the sides, but this one is far superior. The First Years one was about the same price, but the foam part is flimsy and separates easily from the base, and it does not stay put- once my daughter even fell in to the toilet water from shifting her weight around on it! This seat is a great value, and it also has a nice hook that you can put on the wall for quick switches from potty to adult toilet.

When our 20-months-old son showed an interest in using the toilet, we had to go out and find a potty for him. At first, I was going to buy one of those little potty chairs, but why go through the trouble of cleaning that thing all the time, if they can just start using the big toilet. Since we weren't sure how the potty training was going to go, we were looking for something cheap, just to get started. At the same time, I wanted something that looked cute and was practical. We went to Walmart and looked at all the different options. When I saw the Mommy's Helper potty seat, I was very pleased. It's cheap, it's cute, and it's very sturdy. I like the thick cushioning, and the included storage hook is great. The potty seat fits securely on our elongated toilet, leaving only a very minor gap. Later that day, our son used the toilet for the first time. He immediately loved his special little potty seat, and he was so proud of himself for using the big toilet. Now, every time he goes into the bathroom, he grabs his potty seat off the wall and wants to go potty. Even if he doesn't really have to go. He just wants to sit on it. The splash guard works well, and the contoured back provides support for sitting. My son loves his potty seat, and so do I. I'm very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this product.

Update (added on 9/1/2010):
We recently went on a weekend trip with our toddler, and we took his potty seat along. He used it on all different shapes and sizes of toilets along the way, and the seat worked great. This trip ultimately convinced me that this potty seat is a great product. And the price is just awesome. Also, the potty seat still looks like new and cleans very easy.

I bought this product from Wal-mart because it said it fit standard & most elongated toilets. I'm not sure which elongated toilets it would fit b/c it was way to short for ours. There was a gap of 1-2 inches between the front of the potty seat & our toilet seat. Plus, it didn't sit stably into the seat. It's soft & comfortable, but definitely not for those who don't have a round seat!

the newer toilets on the market today will not accomodate this seat. the seat is made for older toilets that are small and round. also, the front part of the seat leaks if you happen to have a boy.

Pros: very soft padding, great for infant potty training, it doesn't leave a ring on their skin. its white so you are sure to get all the spots cleaned. it fits round toilet seats best, but also oblong. also portable.
Cons: stains easily but can be washed off with clorox. splash guard for boys is not great, which means that if you don't aim it down, it does leak through the padding and the base. if you have a big kid it might be a tight fit. no handles. For this reason, i gave it 4 stars
Overall: I recommend it. i got it because i was looking for something that would be gentle on my baby's skin & this is it. its also portable, lightweight and easy to clean. we started using it when he was about 9 mo. he's never hesitated to use it.
Note for infant potty trainers: we had the Bjorn little potty, and found that it was too hard, and he had marks on his skin after a few minutes. so i decided to train him using the toilet directly, this solved the issue.

Love this full foamy toilet-seat shaped potty ring! It's white with random-colored ducks at the back with an attached plastic hang ring. The 5.25x6in opening is a little bigger than what seems to be the average 5x6.5in opening. Because it's really cushioned, it's very high in profile. Munchkin has to climb another 3in foam mountain to get on top of the potty, possibly a bigger deal for little ones starting out with the stepstool, but probably not an issue with older/taller kids. Being so padded, it's surprisingly easy to carry around and fit in a larger (messenger) diaper bag.
The only negative is that the plastic ring that hugs the toilet's seat is attached with 3 metal screws (1 back, 2 side, like a triangle) to the cushion. The plastic-to-foam can have a little separation between the 2 side/front screws, right where pee can hit and get between the cushion and plastic. However, all potty rings have this issue if they're not one piece. If you need a lower profile ring, the First Years The First Years Secure Adjust Toilet Trainer and Disney Pooh Soft Potty Seat are also good.

This seat works great for our 9-month old. We decided to start training early to get her used to sitting on it. The seat fits great on standard toilets, however, it does leave a bit of a gap on the newer elongated/oval shaped toilet seats that some houses have now. We wanted to use it on the toilet closest to her play area so I wouldn't have to run up the stairs every time to her bathroom, but since it fits better on her toilet, I'll just take the extra workout ;) It seems comfortable (I haven't personally tried it out, for obvious reasons), and even though she wiggles a lot, the seat does a good job of staying put. Definitely recommend this seat!

bought based on recommendation from toddler bargains book. agree with prior reviewers, NOT appropriate for elongated toilets. my toddler is a tall little man and we have to push this seat so far back on the elongated toilet he seems way too far back on the seat and it just doesn't fit properly. he's too far back on the toilet and I don't like the gap in the front of the thing. we'll keep, throw it in the car and take it for potty breaks on the road. looking at wee pod or baby bjorn, potty seats specifically made for elongated seats or at least capable of being adjusted. the cushy seat is definitely nice on wee bum-bums.
