5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Little Gadget!
I had wanted one of these for quite sometime. Bought another brand that didn't stick to the shower wall. This one, however, does the job. It's perfect for the shower stall. Have had no problems with it sticking firmly. It makes shaving a whole lot easier!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for textured tile
I wish this product would have worked for us. I stuck it in the shower at night and by morning it had fallen. I put it back up on the wall, shaved one leg, and it fell off as soon as I started shaving the next leg. I wasn't putting my weight on it. It wouldn't even stick up for a few hours with nobody touching it. I cleaned the tile, used rubbing alcohol, and tried...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for textured tile, February 6, 2009

I wish this product would have worked for us. I stuck it in the shower at night and by morning it had fallen. I put it back up on the wall, shaved one leg, and it fell off as soon as I started shaving the next leg. I wasn't putting my weight on it. It wouldn't even stick up for a few hours with nobody touching it. I cleaned the tile, used rubbing alcohol, and tried getting the suction cup wet before applying it to the wall. I believe it is because of the type of tile in our shower - travertine. This is a textured tile. If your shower is the average tile or fiberglass, or even glass, this product will probably work well, according to the other reviewers. If you have any texture to the wall/tile, you will have problems. Again, I wish this would have worked. Now I'll have to get a foot rest that will glue or be drilled into the tiled wall.

I've had this for about 2 weeks and it has stayed fixed on my ceramic tile shower wall without budging a millimeter. I can easily put the weight of my leg on it and probably more, though that is all I need. I was worried when I saw several reviews complaining that it did not stay in place, but mine at least stays very well.

There are a couple of reasons why others might be having trouble. First, the suction cup will only work on a perfectly smooth, non porous surface. Glazed ceramic tiles work great, but only if the tiles are at least 6 inches square. If they are smaller than that, the suction cup won't fit on a single tile, and air will get in along the grout lines. Plastic or glass surfaces should also work so long as they are smooth. If you have textured or bumpy walls, the suction cup will not work as they will not create an air tight seal. Another problem may be that you attached the suction cup when it and the wall were dry. I've found that all suction cups tend to work better when they are slightly wet. Run your shower for a minute before attaching this, and hold it under the water for a second or two. The water helps to create the air tight seal. If you still can't get it to work, try sending it back for a replacement, as you may just have a defective one.

While you can't put your whole weight on it, it helps you balance while you shave. Because of the suction cup, you can keep moving it until you find the perfect height and spot.

Doesn't work. Falls off the shower wall just sitting there by itself. Once any weight is put on it it fails completely. Store and shipping was awesome.

This is a piece of junk! It will not stay attached to the shower wall no matter how I tried to prepare
the wall (ceramic tile). Several years ago (and a different home), I purchased a ceramic shaving pedestal that was attached with silicone. It was perfect. Sad to say, I cannot find that particular type any more.

Bought this for a large stall shower that had no footrest or seat for shaving. By placing this on the wall of the shower you can shave without the shower water rinsing off all of the shaving cream on the back of your legs. It has a powerful suction cup to hold it in place but it does come off on occasion. In particular if you put too much weight on it, it will come off the wall. Seems to work best if both the suction cup and wall are slightly wet when you stick it to the wall.

Works very well. Suction cup attaches firmly. Will come off under a lot of weight so took some learning on practical use.

The product keeps your foot stable and sticks like a charm to glass. Not very sticky to textured tile.

I originally rated this product 5 stars, but have updated my rating to 2 stars. (See original comments below). The suction cup did better than expected. Only slipped a couple of times. However, two issues cause me to downgrade my rating: 1) mold and mildew easy to grow but hard to clean and 2) the plastic holding the pin in place broke. This thick gauge plastic is part of the body of the item and should not have broken. It broke when I released the suction to relocate it. Likely cured to fast in manufacturing.

Original review:
I would purchase this product again if needed. It only slipped once for me in almost a year's time of daily use. Very easy to install and remove -- like the GPS holder on my windshield. I recommend that you remove it to clean it otherwise mildew can grow in between the molded plastic and the rubber suction cup. It has a little bit of flex in it which makes it comfortable to use. The instructions warn about placing any weight on it, but I find that it can tolerate a lot of my weight.
