If you're feeling more than a little hormonal (either pregnancy hormonal or new mom hormonal -- in fact, any type of hormonal will do), this CD will lift your spirits tremendously. It's funny and it's honest, speaking the truth about the best and worst days of motherhood.

BTW -- I had the pleasure of interviewing Nancy White for a Canadian pop culture book about women I wrote a few years ago, and found her to be every bit as funny and brilliant in real life as she is on this CD, and that's really saying something.

The comparison to Tom Lehrer is apt, though I was thinking more Louden Wainwright III. Ms. White's collection of songs here hits on a wide array of experiences with small children, and the results vary from hilarious to moving. Despite the occasional local references, this album plays as well in Denver as in Toronto. This was a gift to us over the holidays from a good friend, and we plan on picking one up for our next friends who have a baby.

My wife loves this, and gives it to all her friends (male & female) as a baby-shower gift. She found out that you can get it for less than $[...] if you buy it direct from Nancy. I love this album so much, I wish I could buy copies for all my pregnant friends. It's sweet and funny and telling, the tunes are great, the lyrics delightful. A few of the references are dated, but "Suzy Money Gone Away" is sadly timely as ever. How I wish it was available in any form!
