2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed - will not buy again - not enough space
I bought the 2008 calendar based on other reviews and I was disappointed. We have 2 young kids, but even with their activities (and mom's & dad's), the vertical column set-up leaves really small squares to write a few basic words. The stickers are cute but there's no room to put them because the squares are so small - and there weren't that many "sports" stickers...

This calendar has columns for up to five family members' schedules. The boxes are big enough to write notes, locations, or multiple appointments. We keep ours hanging on the inside of the kitchen pantry door. We actually use this calender throughout the year.

Other family calenders dont have enough space to write in, or enough columns for our five people; we've been very satified with this one. Our kids are now teenagers - on one hand it means the cartoonish characters are not so appropriate. On the other hand, we need a good schedule system now more than ever!

I like the way this calendar is organized. If you have more then two kids it may not work as well, but for us it is great. I can tell where everyone in my family should be on any given day.

Great calendar for Mom! Keeps track of 5 people and their activities. Plenty of room to write, correct mistakes, and rewrite!

Comes with useful stickers and cute ones too. Also comes with a magnetic phone list for all your important numbers. The 16 month calendar is very nice to have for the school year.

We've used this calendar for 4 years now to organize activities for working parents and two teen/preteen kids involved in lots of activities. It's easy to see who's activity it is even with multiple events per day.

This is the only calendar I've been able to find with this format, one column for each member of the family. Others have a line for each person but you have to fill it out for each week of the month rather than once a month. This one also has more space for each person.

It would be nice to be able to get this format with other designs - we like Boynton's silliness but some variety would be nice especially as the kids get older.

Last year's calendar included a pocket on the back cover that was a very handy and logical place to store schedule-related info like invitations with directions, tickets to future events, etc. Didn't find one like that this year, I think I'll do a little duct-tape grafting of the pocket onto my new one - publisher, please bring back the pocket!

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!, August 28, 2007

This is a wonderful calendar for the busy family, especially if your kids are into sports, gymnastics, etc... Think of all the practices, games, meetings, etc! At a glance you can see where everyone needs to be. I've used Ms. Boynton's calendar for so long that I cannot imagine life without it! I especially like the 16 month version of this calendar. It goes from September to December of the next year!! This allows you to pencil in appointments and social events without waiting for a new calendar!
I also use the extra space beside the numbers to write other things as needed--it's very resourceful.

My husband and I both LOVE all the zany stickers that come with the calendar. It's very eye-catching. The only thing lacking is magnets attached to the back of the calendar for hanging it on the fridge.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars for 5 years running!, August 28, 2007
This review is from: Mom's Family Calendar 2008 (Calendar)
For the past five years or so, this calendar has helped me orchestrate life in a family of five. It has a column for each family member (if you have a larger family, you'll need to buy two.) Each cell offers a 1" x 1/2" space for events or notes, so it's not big enough to serve as a hourly daytimer, but it does let me brush in the broad strokes of our family activities. Sandra Boynton's characters are delightful and fun. I'm going to order another as soon as I complete this review!

I love this thing. I feel it is a must have for moms. It helps me keep track of my appointments, dad's, and both kids. Plenty of room to write nice and big! We are a family of four so it leaves us an extra column to keep up with birthdays. Everyone who comes over asks where I got it and how to get one. My sister now uses one too. Love it..no issues.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great!, September 17, 2008
This review is from: Mom's Family Calendar 2008 (Calendar)
I love this calender! The format makes it easy to read & stay on top of things. There are five columns alongside the day of the week. The weekend days have a colored background. Each box (for each day/person) will easily allow upto four lines of text. With one child, and two adults in our family, there' enough room to stay on track. On the downside, only abbreviated notes can be entered. No space for any details as space runs out. As always, Boynton's fun graphics & bright colors make it a very attractive record of mundane day to day activities.
