"Inspirational and entertaining, this book contains many quotes you may wish to frame or share with friends, and as a package it will make a wonderful gift."
City Book Review

"An unique insight into the gift of motherhood. Mom’s the Word is a sweet, touching collection that will bring laughter and tears. A delightful read for any mother–or anyone who is like a mother!”
—My Frugal Savings

"Motherhood revolutionizes our life. Mom's The Word: The Wit, Wisdom, and Wonder of Motherhood discusses the power of motherhood in our lives, of being one, of being the foundation of the family. Aimed at those who want to appreciate their motherhood or those who want to do a little tribute to the important woman in their lives. Mom's the Word: The Wit, Wisdom, and Wonder of Motherhood is a strong pick for parenting collections everywhere."
Midwest Book Review

"Allen Klein’s purpose is to make us feel inspired again, to bask in laughter and revel in joy."
OM Times

"Allen Klein has an uncanny insight into the gift of motherhood. Mom's the Word is a sweet, touching collection that will bring laughter and tears. A delightful read for any mother--or anyone else!"
–Ruby Cheves, MD, National Mother of the Year 2012

"This book will make moms and kids feel appreciated and loved. It will make you laugh and make you cry. There are stories that will warm your heart and quotes that you will want to remember forever. Mom's the Word has a whole section devoted to Mother’s Day, one that I found particularly familiar was “The Mother’s Day Muddle” by Bruce Lansky: 1) Your children serve you breakfast in bed on Mother’s Day; 2) They also spill coffee, burn the toast and wreck your kitchen; 3) You spend all afternoon cleaning up.This book is a wonderful way to celebrate all the moms in your life. Remember to thank them this weekend for their patience, devotion and love."
–ôwa Gazette

"Mom’s the Word celebrates the powerful role that mothers play in our lives and reminds us of the intense joy, frustration, and deep love we experience as mothers. These words honor the mothers we had, acknowledge both the challenges and immense joy of mothering, and ultimately prompt us to reflect on who we want to be in our children’s lives. As I dove into these reflections I found myself I drawn to my computer with an urge to put my own thoughts about mothers and motherhood down on the page. (Who do I want to be for my children, for myself?) I know you will be equally inspired."
—Kate Hopper, Author of Use Your Words: A Writing Guide for Mothers and Ready for Air: A Journey Through Premature Motherhood

"Allen Klein has definitely found the essence of uplifting encouragement and put it into written form." — Inspired Personal Development

In honor of Mothers everywhere this weekend, I wanted to share a delightful little book with you. Even though it doesn't come out for a few weeks yet, you can always preorder it and have it shipped right to your mom and surprise her.

This book will make moms and kids feel appreciated and loved. It will make you laugh and make you cry. There are stories that will warm your heart and quotes that you will want to remember forever. There is even a section devoted to mothers-to-be. What a perfect way to celebrate a new mom in your life, but sharing this book with her. Even Grandmas would love thinking back on their motherhood days.

With a whole section devoted to Mother's Day, one that I found particularly familiar was:

The Mother's Day Muddle By Bruce Lansky
1. Your children serve you breakfast in bed on Mother's Day
2. They also spill coffee, burn the toast and wreck your kitchen.
3. You spend all afternoon cleaning up.

This book is a wonderful way to celebrate all the moms in your life. Remember to thank them this weekend for their patience, devotion, and love.

"A man may compass important enterprises, he may become famous...he may deserve a measure of popular approval, but he is not right at heart, and can never be truly great, if he forgets his mother." via Grover Cleveland (MOM'S THE WORD, p. 71)

I had the opportunity to interview author Allen Klein on Conversations LIVE recently about the book MOM'S THE WORD and it was as much a delight as the book itself. This is not just a celebration of what mothers have done. It goes into who they are and what thy have contributed when it comes to our lives.

Taking stories from individuals who are respected and easy to recognize Klein has given us a way of seeing that moms and their influence will forever be with us---whether they are still here or not. Some of the quotes are reflective while others are fun and quirky. It really shows that mothers have to be all things to all people, but they will always be that source of entertainment, education and reinforcement.

Another great quote from the book comes from C. Joybell C. on page 140: "The best love in the world, is the love of a man. The love of a man who came from your womb, the love of your son!

Those who still have their mothers around will want to hug them a little tighter while those who have lost their mother will definitely smile when you think of all they have done. Either way this book helps us to give credit where credit is due when it comes to who we are and who opened up the door for us to be the best of ourselves.

I do have to say, as a Mom myself, this book was very well written and I went through emotions from happy to heartwarming and crying sometimes because of the joy some of the book brought, thinking of my own Mother. It even was funny at times and the tears I did shed were mainly of joy and happiness. This book has hit Motherhood right on the head and captures it greatly. It is just one of those books that makes you think of your own Mother and want you put them through, mainly as a child and teenager, as well as what they have sacrificed for you to make sure you had what you needed and they tried to never have you go without things, even if they were not a need, but a want.

I would recommend this book to everyone, because everyone has a Mother or even someone that was a Mother figure for them. I have a Mother, but my Grandmother was also like a Mother to me as well, so I was blessed that I had two great women in my life to guide me, or at least try, down the right path in life. I owe them everything and more.

This is an "on my desk" book, kept where I can easily reach it between now and Mother's Day. I consider this book a keeper.
