5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS BO. BUY IT., December 5, 1999
By
This review is from: Mona (Audio CD)
This is the Bo to buy. It is the closest approximation on a relatively legal album that you find of his amazing live show. The greatness of Bo is not in the sugar-coated and pop produced gimmicks of his early 2-minute recordings, but in the soulful blues, humor, ballads, and extended jams of his live shows. Not only did "The Originator" inspire all the British bands of the early sixties, but he also set the standard for all of the late sixties jam bands. And his playing of true shuffle blues is unbeatable.

The only real problem with this album (other than some amusingly off-key backup singer moments) is that it (like 'Live' above it and "I'm a Man," which isn't on CD yet) is only a slice of the live show. They should put the whole show out there. I hope Bo is getting the royalties he deserves!

Buy this album. When he sounds like this, you realize that Bo is the best. At everything.

2.0 out of 5 stars stingy selection, mo' cuts please!, August 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Mona (Audio CD)
these are all great songs, but hey, there's alot more they coulda put on. Most modern CD compilations include up to twenty songs, especially those of the 2-1/2 minute variety, so just ten dont get it.
