I had no idea this song was on Elton John's record "Honky Chateau." I knew it was an Elton John song, and that it was featured in Cameron Crowe's movie "Almost Famous." I also knew I loved it. It is both plaintive and reassuring, talking about the confusion that life can bring about and how it throws a mass of people together in society. "Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters" is one of Elton John's all-time classic songs.
