The series gets better and better, each character becomes more endearing. It's easy to get engaged in the struggles of the family, but I suggest starting with Series 1 & 2 to understand the history of the family and to appreciate their dilemmas. Set in some spectacular scenery in Scotland, and produced with very high production value, this series is a rare treat. I can't wait for Series 5&6.

If you have a hankering for a hunk of good Scottish humor, great Scottish scenery and some meaty Scottish tradition, you're going to enjoy this series. The only problem I have is the rapid turn over of some the main characters. It's a fluid cast and you have to be able to go with the flow.

I am not a fan of old TV shows but this one is an exception. I enjoy watching it over and over!

This is an awesome BBC series about Archie MacDonald and life in Glenbogle. If you're looking for something fresh and full of beautiful scenery, character and story then start with Series 1 and watch all of the series.

A friend lent us Series 1 & 2 because we were complaining about "nothing good on TV" and now we are hooked on Monarch of the Glen.

We really like Monarch of the Glen and these series arrived in quick and excellent condition from Amazon.com. Would recommend if you like scottish humor!

My husband and I love each and every episode of this series. They are each like little entertainment treasures.
