I was anticipating receiving this CD. Upon receiving it, I was not disappointed. If you watch and love the show, you will love the CD. It really brings the scenes of the show to mind while it is playing. I love to play it at work, it brightens up my day without interrupting me with lots of words, I like the fact that it is mostly instrumental, very soothing. I love it and when it wears out, I'll buy it again.

Monarch of the Glen is an interesting UK drama about a (rather cute) yuppie living in London who is virtually dragged back home to take over the family estates in Scotland and be the traditional laird of the glen. The drama concentrates on his problems with the estate, his eccentric parents, and his failures in the area of recognising when women fancy him (you could shake him, really).

In keeping with the location, the soundtrack is strongly influenced by traditional Scottish music and is background music - although some of the tracks are more modern in style, don't expect lots of vocals a la Ally McBeal. If you like moody music with swirling Scottish tunes and rhythms, this album could be for you (but I'd recommend the series to anyone who likes subtle English humour!)

Glad I bought the CD. The music is excellent and allows me to relive some of the episodes.

A beautiful soothing soundtrack that transports to the Highlands. Although there are some music cues I wish were on the soundtrak (most involving Hector) it's still great.

Just to answer M. Ondrovic's review and probably lots like her/him, asking: " Where can I find it?". Amazon's European Branches ( France + UK/England/United Kingdom, in Europe) sometimes has a couple for sale - afterall this album comes from the UK.

A few months ago there was only one for £179 (!), but at the time of writing this, I see a couple on both Amazon-uk and France, for under £100, which is a good bargain.
(And since it's getting rarer and rarer and more collectable, you know you can re-sell it in the future, for at least as much as you spent!).

If you are a die-hard fan of the show, this albulm is a must-have. Enough said
