NEW ENGLAND REVIEW,
By LESLIE (CONNECTICUT, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Monarch of Key West (Paperback)
This was a fun book for me to read. It pulled me from a serious and busy lifestyle into a place I want to go - somewhere warm and easy spiced with humor, excitment and mystery. Reaching the end of the book was like waving goodbye to old friends after a long weekend together. Now, I look forward to seeing them again. OK, Mr. David Paule, please write something more for me to read!

If you are looking for a novel that allows you to forget about life, even for just a moment, then this is your book. D.M. Paule transports you to Key West and the wild adventures of the town. His amazing storytelling ability makes you feel as though you are right there with Aidan. I definitely recommend this book! You will not be sorry that you picked it up.

Mr Paule has written an excellent novel of self discovery, family intrigues and friendship in its many guises. While doing so he has incorporated much humor and humanity into his characters. I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Planes, Sex and Alcohol, David you shouldn't have!,

I have known the author for many years and was aware of his passion to write and be published. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to read any of his earlier work. I am astonished at his ability in the 'Monarch of Key West' to deliver a well rounded and multi-faceted story. It had me laughing, reminiscing and crying all throughout the book. I had to finish it even though I had pressing work due. It just grabs you! The story is begging to become a film. I just wonder who the author will pick for the parts. We'll just have to wait and see!

Finding your way in the Conch Republic,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Monarch of Key West (Paperback)
This is a thoroughly enjoyable "finding yourself" novel. I enjoyed the rich detail of both Key West and its history and the people who live there, as well as the aviation detail. The author also has a great sense of humor. I think those who enjoy Ferrell Sams triology of books (Run with the Horsemen, Whisper of the River, When All the World Was Young) will love this book, too.

Parrotheads Unite!,
By Angie McDonald (Atlanta, GA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Monarch of Key West (Paperback)
If you don't like Jimmy Buffet, never had a desire to experience Key West, or think an Irish Wake can't be fun--this is the wrong book for you. D.M. Paule has done a remarkable job of recreating the whole Key West experience with some memorable characters and hilarious situations. A must-read for the Parrothead in all of us!
