Although I do have a little better background understanding of this period before I read this study, I have to admit that excellent use of primary contemporary material during this time period gives the reader a solid view of the complexities confronting the stability of the crown and, therefore, England itself. One learns more from this well researched study than from many larger studies that do not hit the mark.
