5 Star Movie; 1 Star DVD,

This review is from: Mondo Magic (DVD)
The Internet Movie Database says this movie runs 85 min but the USA version is 100 min. The disc released by Intermedia Video has most of the graphic sex cut out. Furthermore, the scene in which a woman has demons exorcised by a witchdoctor is gone. The "doctor" literally blows smoke up her butt!!!

Less Shocking, But More Informative,
By Rhodes (Arlington, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mondo Magic (DVD)
I just finished watching this movie, minutes ago. I thought this was going to be really shocking, and at times it was. But it is not as shocking as advertised. However, I think that is great. The pure realness and interesting story of the tribes shown is just like intriguing. It is much more an interesting show of primitive people than of shock. I gave it only three stars because most people are looking for shock and it is not shock. If you are looking for something which is an informative, interesting show of the people of areas of the world you will never ever visit than this is a must see.

A must for all Shockumentary fans,
By AdamTheSonofGod (Kabul) - See all my reviews

Any fans of the "Faces of Death" or "Banned from television" series should check this video out. The footage is old but regardless of date will draw a reaction from viewers. The video does have it's dull moments, nothing that cant be skipped over. Aside from the shock value the film posses there is content of socially redeeming value. The film was originally advertised as a shocking look into the life styles and religious practices of primitive cultures. I was surprised to open my sociology book and see some of the same tribes shown in the video discussed in my college texts.
