Book Description

February 12, 2003 0324159935 978-0324159936 2
This text strives to bring money and banking up-to-date by providing complete, integrated coverage of topics that are important to the twenty-first century world of money and banking. While covering the myriad topics appropriate for a money and banking course, the book is the first in the field to fully integrate coverage of international financial markets and the global economy from the outset. It also gives considerable attention to the ways in which new technologies are affecting the practice of banking, the nature of money, and the tasks of policymakers, and is the first and only text on the market to offer a fully-integrated program of accompanying online resources and multimedia tools that enhance a student’s study of money and banking.

Editorial Reviews

Review

This book is truly a money & banking text of the 21st century. The authors combined a good writing style, one that is thorough yet succinct with a full coverage of the latest developments in money, banking and financial markets, along with the advent of information technology and global integration.

The figures were clearly illustrated; the use of color enhanced their readability, and I thought the accompanying text explanations were quite helpful.

The frequent references to web sites that students can access and the types of information available are great. I looked up some material myself and thought it was quite fun. The integration of international topics and the information technology revolution are also refreshing.

This review is from: Money, Banking and Financial Markets (Hardcover)
Excellent and brilliant book. I used it to successfully pass the Dantes Money and Banking exam. Amazingly, it's as thick as phone book, yet very easy to read. After completing a chapter, you just long for more. I recommend it.

1.0 out of 5 stars This textbook is very unclear, November 1, 2010
This book is very vague. This book prefers to explore complex issues with the banking system then teach the basics that it is suppose to be teaching. Be careful if you are buying this book for a college class. The questions from the test banks that most professors use for their exams are very poorly worded. Many test question could have multiple answers but only one is scored as correct.
