More About the Author

Born in New York and having raised her family there, Gail Rae took the chance and moved to a totally new environmnet a decade ago. While she rued leaving the water (always having lived on islands), Gail was thrilled to discover the mountains in Arizona served the same purpose for her - keeping her happy.

Ms. Rae's writing started out as a means to an end for a single parent with two children. Although the children are now grown women with lives of their own, she continues to write from a different kind of necessity: she can't stop.

While most of her work is non-fiction (how to, study guides, literary guides and medical narrative), she is rewriting her first novel - again - while continuing to act and teach.

"What Is It And How Did I Get It? Early Stage Chronic Kidney Disease" is Gail's most important book and one she'd like to see in the hands of every newly diagnosed CKD patient. Corporate sponsorship is welcome to this end.

She's participated in book signings, book talks, guest blogs, Tweeter Chats and radio shows all to one end: getting that book where it belongs. To that end, she's writing her own blog at http://gailrae.wordpress.com and maintaining a Facebook page by the same name as the book. You can also find her on Twitter at WhatHowEarlyCKD and on the Transplant Community Outreach page, also on Facebook, where she writes "Kidney Matters".

Keep your eyes open for news of an upcoming radio guest appearance (How can that be the correct word if you won't see her?) and TweetChat for 2012's National Kidney Month.
