Money: How to Find It with Astrology

I am written this review predominantly with the title in mind. If this book was titled "My Statistical Research of Career and Money Matters in Astrology so Far" --- I would have given this 5 stars. However, the title is grossly misleading. It seems the author wrote a research thesis and some publisher decided to give it a catchy name that sadly bears no resemblance to the content.

The average user like me, who buys this book is predominantly interested in using astrological techniques to narrow down opportunities in their own or clients birth charts. On this practicality the book falls woefully short. I have only returned about 2 books in my history with Amazon. If it wasn't for the fact that I accidentally marked it up, this would definitely be a return. It does not meet my basic needs in an astrology book.

For example, in one of the chapters the author noted that she noticed wealthy people had a higher liklihood of interaction between the water houses or interaction between the earth houses. On another chapter, the author notes that wealthy folks often have many planets in the 6th house because they have to keep up with daily appointments, dressing etc. The book is filled with such examples of statistical data. No information is given on how to apply this statistical information to an astrology chart. Without the experienced astrologer's decipership and processing of information to chart synthesis (which is only gained by reading and consulting hundreds of charts, through experience) then passed down to the reader through concise techniques and formulas, I find myself asking in many instances while perusing this goblet of information..."that's great, but how am I suppose to apply this in reading a chart? How do I use this information to draw conclusions?" The thing is, you wont be able to. Unless one is already so versed in astrology as to render purchasing this book unnecessary.

My expectation is that this book would at least cover some very basic astrological principles. For example, one commmon principle on career opportunity is to look at positive aspects to the midheaven. Trines and sextiles to the midheaven are positive, where squares and oppositions are challenging. Further research on the specific meaning of that planet/aspect/house position, and/or astrological conjunctions, will gain insight to where an individual will be "fortunate" in money/career ventures. I wanted to see the author decipher some sample combinations to assist me in deciphering opportunities in the charts I read. Sadly for the end user, this book did not cover anything of the pratical sort.

For the price, I can think of many more user oriented books than this one. I also believe this is overpriced. If you are looking for techniques to help yourself or your clients discover or narrow down their money making/career potential -- skip this book and save the $20. Instead I recommend "Pathways to Success: Discover Your Career Potential With Astrology" by Gayle Geffner. You can get this for about $6. I noticed the slimmer "Pathway to Success" covered more techniques than the thicker, pricier, and data overload "Money".

If you are an avid research astrologer interested in reading what others have researched so far, only then would I recommend buying "Money".

Great book that cuts right to the chase. This is not a beginning astrology book, but isn't so technical that a beginner will get lost. Lois, as always, backs up her astrology advice with solid statistical data. When advising a client on money matters, this book hones right in on where to look and analyze. Even though a bit hard to find, this book is worth the effort.

This book is a bit too pricey in my opinion. But I have not seen anyone else do a book specifically on this topic and it's one everyone looks for information about. When people look at their chart they want to know where the money is! She does a good job of explaining that I would recommend this book, but you might wait to see if you can find a used copy...it's new and you'll pay for NEW!!! It's a good book though.
