Sooooooooo Good!,

If you like roots reggae at all, you should own at least one Dennis Brown album. If you're going to own only one Dennis Brown album, why not own this one? This album has most of his great hits, spanning most of his career. The sound quality is great, there's a nice 8 page booklet, 2 discs, 48 tracks... After listening to this anthology, I now realize my reggae collection had been incomplete without it.

Dennis Brown is an artist who has many many albums out since his career was launched perhaps over 100 albums. This compilation features his early recordings, many cover versions, but this is an extensive collection that features his voice at an early raw stage but very infectiousyou may find yourself listening to this collection over and over.A must buy if you are into reggae, don't forget that DENNIS BROWN is BOB MARLEY'S favorite singer hence his tag "THE CROWN PRINCE OF REGGAE"

After the passing of the prophet Bob Marley Dennis Brown took over as the king of reggae. This anthology is as hard hitting as Bobs legend my favorite money in my pocket, the remake of Otis Reddings dock of the bay and silhouettes just to name a few.Buy this record it will never come out of the cd changer rewind!

I heard about Dennis Brown one morning on NPR's Morning Edition. I instantly connected with his voice. I ordered this CD about five minutes after the story ended. I was not disappointed. Great collection of songs with some interesting covers. His music just carries me away.
Give some of the samples a listen or search out the story NPR did on their website.

This is a great collection of work. While I am not well versed in the entirety of Dennis Brown's catalog, the anthology is solid from start to finish. My one critique would be the sound quality of the recording. It is good enough but not wholley crisp. This was the best collection offered that I could find so I bought it. I'd buy it again too, however, I'd look to see if there's any of his work that's been remastered--differently I guess.

This review is from: Dennis Brown: Money in My Pocket - Anthology (DVD Audio)
This classic Dennis Brown material sounds great on this DVD-Audio release. There isn't much DVD-Audio (or SACD) exceptional sounding releases of reggae available so this is the one to own if you like Dennis Brown.

Would not order Money in My Pocket: Anthology 1970-1995 from Rock Greats. It's been over a week since the order went in. To get status you have to go to their web site and enter an excessive amount of personal information. They obviously do not have the product in stock as was advertised and have no convenient method for for a customer determining order status.
