Another fascinating read from Albert Jack! His books never fail to make you laugh, at the same time feeding you information that you would not ordinarily have even been aware of. Easy to pick up and put down, wonderful as gifts, and very good conversation pieces - I have yet to read one of his books that disappoints! This collection of Albert Jack's little gems is another winner!

I got hooked on the first part and needed the second. Never going to be dull in the pub again. In fact, I'll tell you why this pub is called what it's called. Thoroughly enjoying dipping in and out of these on my kindle. Love your chatty style. Great work.

This is a bathroom book for people who spend a lot of time on the commode. I enjoy picking it up and random reading. Oh, maybe it fits in the :coffee table" catagory. Its not something one reads as they would a novel but it is definately a fun read.

A great book for readers or viewers of British fiction, this volume fills you in on some of the more arcane British and early American slang.

This belongs in the museum. To even imagine things costing this or that, or for tit for tat. Its interesting, can hold your attention. But not for everyone who likes the macrabe.

I'd suggest the reader first consult my review of part 1. Part 2 is similar in every way. However, it gets a lower star. Why?

I actually did go back and cross check...because I'd felt in reading part 2 that "hey, did I read that already?"

Yes. It appears 5-10% or so of the content is a rehash/repeat of part 1. Not so much as you'd notice totally, but I did.

Similarly interesting as the first book. So its...okay. Worth reading, but I'd be afraid in attempting to impart any of the knowledge here gained I'd end up finding myself on a bar stool in Boston waiting on my friend Norm to arrive.

If you are looking for a thoroughly entertaining book, this is it! But there is more. The book is also seriously informative. Once you have read this book you will feel as right as ninepence. And if you are wondering what the heck that means - as I was wondering - you can read all about it in Money for Old Rope, Part 2, The Big Book of Everything Else. The ten chapters of the book deal with what seems like thousands of fascinating topics. Once more: this book is thoroughly entertaining, it is funny and informative. I love it. A real page-turner!

Very entertaining and enlightening! Actually a bit more than I really want to know, but you can't say it isn't thorough!
