From Library Journal
Zoe, a quiet writer of best sellers, doesn't count on falling in love with Matty, the handsome escort she hires to accompany her to an awards banquet. She doesn't win the prize that evening, but her whole life changes much as it had after her husband died when she asks Matty, who is 12 years younger, to spend the night. But Zoe cannot believe that he really loves her and not just her money, which changes everything all over again. Kelly (The Ghosts of Albi) has written an entertaining contemporary romance with characters full of quirks and foibles whose actions nevertheless ring true. The setting is England, but American readers will generally understand the British terminology. A fun read; for popular fiction and romance collections. Andrea Lee Shuey, Shuey Consulting, Dallas

Zoe Kearns, aka famous novelist Rosalind Tate, opts for a slightly unorthodox date to a prestigious literary dinner, but male escort Matthew Groves proves perfectly satisfying--charming, amenable and discreet. Lonely widow Zoe imparts a hasty invitation to "Matty" to stay the night, and his acceptance initiates regular and frequent encounters. But when Matty declares his love to Zoe and returns the money she has paid him, Zoe questions his motives. Could this much younger, virile, and handsome actor truly love her, or was he merely a shrewd and conniving gold digger? Matty's trust in Zoe is shattered when he discovers she hired an investigator to gather information on him, and, sure enough, when he leaves for a few weeks in New Zealand, gruff and unyielding police inspector Henry Dacres tries his hand at winning Zoe's heart. Kelly presents a number of far-fetched plot twists, but none are as jarring as Zoe's choice of husbands, which may disappoint some readers; but as a whole, Kelly's tale is delectably racy.
