Another Bad One!, September 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Money Talks: The Complete Guide to Creating a Profitable Workshop or Seminar in Any Field (Paperback)
I was given several books from a friend written by Dr. Jeffrey Lant. I suffered through 2 of them and thought I would give him one more try.
But, they all seem to be the same. Lacking any informational value. This one in particular really was useless. I would not recommend that anyone spend their valuable time reading this.

Lant covers a lot of territory, May 13, 2008
This book is dated. Lant writes about cassette-tape duplication
and other outmoded technology. These days making CDs is faster,
cheaper, and sounds better than the old tape stuff that was around
when this book was written in the 80s.
More than 20 years have passed and the technology of promoting
yourself as a speaker has changed - but human nature has not and
Lant gives it to us straight. He discusses how to deal with the
petty Hitlers and bureaucrats of extended education programs -
tells how to get your speaking engagements populated and how
to profit by selling books and CDs from the back of the room -
something that socialist-minded bureucrat employees would rather
you not do.
This book is worth looking over. It contains lots of nitty-gritty
information about how to make money giving talks... how to do
the business and coordinative sides of things. If you want to
be a speaker it's not the only book you should read, but it's
a helpful manual for dealing with the crises that come up when
you aren't at the podium - things that will destroy your chances
of success if you aren't prepared to deal with them in a pragmatic
and sometime ruthless way.
The book is 8.5"x11" and the lines of text are long. There is a lot
of content here. It's a somewhat fatiguing book to read because
there are so many words on each line.
I don't know if I would pay full retail for it because it is kind
of old, but I would recommend picking up a copy because the ideas
in it could help you a great deal.

It worked for me, July 12, 2006
I don't know what the others were expecting this book to do for them. If your looking to get into the seminar business this book will give you all the information that you need to know about it. It's a complete guide.
Don't expect this book to be some kind of miracle book that will magicaly create a seminar for you, that's your job, but it will give you everything that you need to know so that you can make a educated attempt of putting something together that works.
I'v used this book to help me creat my stop smoking seminars and I can say with complete honesty that this book help me.
Get a copy and use it, don't just read it.
