I have been a Suze Orman fan for many years - and she never disappoints! I love that her books are always easy to read and understand for everyday people. Plus, she is not trying to sell you investment products, so you know she is always giving it to you straight. Good, bad or ugly, Suze tells it like it is. I appreciate her honesty. This is a great book for anyone, but especially those just starting out in life - whether still in high school, college, or just starting out on your own for the first time with a new apartment and new job, this is the book for you! Avoid any financial mistakes by following Suze's advice. - Aimee Elizabeth, Author of Poverty Sucks! How to Become a Self-Made Millionaire.

I was originally given this book as a gift, and although the title is a little lame, the book does not disappoint! I lent out my original and was replacing it here so I already knew what I was getting. This book is broken down it to chapters ranging from credit to loans, from debit to saving, from investment to investing into a home or car. Everything is broken down by chapter and each topic is covered in only a page or two, prompted by a commonly asked question to the author. It is very user friendly and a great introduction to how to start off on the right foot and make sure you are financially stable. The should teach this stuff in school but they don't so its a must have! Read it once, keep it as a reference, lend it out, this is defiantly worth it! Also the author has a really neat back story, so look it up if you get the chance!

I love Suze Orman and watch her shows religiously! Recently, my 20 year old son asked me some financial questions that I knew the answers to but hesitated. He's at the age where I don't know anything! So, I turned to Suze. He's watched her with me as he's grown up and I thought if anyone could get through to him on financial questions, she could!!!

Looks like we have come full circle. Suze published books that we could take with us and open for many economical and emotional situations. Then as life got more complicated so her help had to split-up into different books and kits. Then as everything moved too fast for the printed word she gave us the "Laws of Money." A book that is immune to being dated. Now we are back to the practical. Over the years things will change; however this book fits the "here and now" as to what to pay attention to and how to get help.

For the hand full of people that think this is just common sense, it is only if you think about it. Also common sense dowse not include the why people think about such things as FICO scores or websites that did not exist years ago. I have found that common sense is only common if you know it.

For those people that think this is just a rehash. I can pretty much assume that you have been reading covers again and not the nitty-gritty inside. Of that one of my favorite sections is on 8. BIG-TICKET PURCHASE: CAR. Maybe because I already follow the plan and it gives me more trust in the other section of the book. The information is up to date so it would be hard to be rehash.

Anyway you look at it just opening the book will pay for the purchase price.
