Mongoose BMX Bike Gel Knee and Elbow Pads

I was worried that these pads might be too small for my seven year old, but they are very adjustable and look like they would fit kids much older and even smaller adults. The gel cushion seems like it will protect well.

These pads are great and durable...they have held up to many spills onto a gravel road and have protected my son very well. Good buy.

I was looking for pads that would work for my 2 year old son and my 3 1/2 year old daughter. I didn't want to buy the cheesy ones that they make for little kids, especially since I couldn't find any that didn't come prepackaged with helmets (they already have new helmets). I wanted pads because my 2 year old loves to ride his scooter and he's quite the daredevil! So, before he left most of his skin on the pavement, I wanted to try to prevent this.

I was worried that these pads would be too big. But there is a surprising amount of give with the straps. They fit both my kids (who are on the stockier sides for their ages, but not huge) with the knee pads over clothing and the elbow pads both over clothing and on their bare arms. The kids think they're fun. Both sets of pads stayed on pretty well and would protect their little joints in a fall.

Bought these for my son to be safe on rollerblades, no complaints. The gel does great at shock absorbtion, the construction is sturdy especially considering the cheap price. This is a great deal if you want nice, basic, one size fits all protection for roller sports.

I am SO glad I chose these kneepads! The hard outer shell and shock-absorbing gel work better than I could have dreamed! I bought these for costuming purposes actually- I am building a costume that will require me to run around on my hands and knees.
I did a test run on some very hard ground, and I didn't feel a thing on my knees, not one single jolt! I have zero regrets buying these, they will serve me quite well. I reccommend these, they are very heavy-duty.

My child is 5 and they fit great. He really likes them and they do the job. He has had a few spills on his bike and razor. :)

As mentioned in a previous review, these pads are great protection- not overly bulky, yet do indeed have a gel like padding. As also mentioned by another reiewer, these do indeed fit a wide sprectrum of ages: my 7 yr. old daughter has a pair; and so do I(45 yr old. male!!).
All said, highly recommended.

These are only Ok. Look elsewhere if you are looking for really good ones. I was sold on the "gel" part, but that neither seem to offer extra comfort nor additional protection compared to a well padded gear. The straps are too big for my child and too small for me. It appears that these are made for either a small adult, a big child or an average sized adolescent. The straps on this are poorly designed. Straps on protective pads are usually made to turn around on a ring before getting strapped with velcro. These do not do that and just go straight. Velcro is not long enough to support a decent range of sizes. So, I will use it because I bought them, but would not recommend or buy them again.

Biking, skating, kickboxing, deck cleaning..you name it, these pads can be worn to give your elbows and knees the protection they need at a price you can't beat. Delivery was prompt and all was in good order. Definitely recommended!

*** Much better elbow & knee pads than the Razor brand. Mongoose Pads with the Razor helmet is the way to go for better quality & safety in any bicycle, board, skates or fusion type sports! Word-Up kids take it from me, "Grand-Pa Wello" always be safe & first! ***

Unless you are an adult the size and weight of an average 10 year old girl, don't buy these for yourself. Luckily, I have a kid who can use them since they were too small for me. However, they are well constructed and she seems very comfortable wearing them for several hours at a time. They haven't been tested in an actual scootering fall yet, but by looking at them I am fairly certain they can take quite a hit and keep elbows and kneecaps from serious impact damage. At least I hope so. Also they are very cool to look at being deep black with orange buttons.
