Got this bike primarily for my commute to work. Yes, even though a mountain bike isn't the most efficient bike for the roads, I wanted something that I could get a little rough with. So far I'm not disappointed at all. The gears did need a little tweaking but after that it's been smooth sailing. The Shimano derailleurs are nice, the dual suspension is terrific (my first bike with any suspension). With probably a few upgrades to components this could be a hardcore bike. For this price it definately competes with $1000 bikes.

Bought this bike on sale for 240 + tax.

First of all it is a good quality bike.

I ride each other day to work (6 mile or 25 minutes cycling one way...) for 2 months.
With my height 6ft this bike is a little bit small for me... maybe for person below 6ft it would be just fine.
It provides nice comfortable ride. It is not super fast. It could be lighter.

Overall it is OK... My next bike would be a road bike :)

Awesome bike for a good price! It looks great and you would recognize your yellow bike from miles away. There is no kickstand but it is not a big deal. It takes 5 min from unpacking to complete assembly if you have an allen wrench at home. I wish an allen wrench was included since it's the only tool necessary to tighten the handle bar.

After getting into singletrack riding I purchased this bike at a thrift store to replace the department store bike that started falling apart on the trails. While there are certainly better more trail specific bikes out there I can't complain much about this one. When I got this bike it had 2.1 inch tires which work great for the sand often on the trails (though not sure if it comes with these or if someone added them). Two or three inches of travel on both the front and rear shocks give it enough cushion for the two or three foot drops here in florida though I would bottom it out at any drop three feet or more. Overall a durable frame with responsive shifters and decent handling. My two problems with the bike would be the front disk brake and grips are two short. The disc brake is terribly weak but after some adjustments it can be adjusted for adequate stopping power provided you aren't riding DH or anything. Last thing is that the grips on the bars are so short you have to also put your hands on the shifters so if you hit roots or drops accidental gear shifts is easy to make. In conclusion this is a great entry level bike with a few fixable problems.

Update: Had to drop it down to four stars. Hit a jump today and the rear derailleur snapped off the frame. Still a great bike but some upgrades are needed if you plan to do more aggressive trail riding.

I am pleased with this product. It is not a high end Mountain bicycle but as an intermediate model it fits the needs of a casual rider. I found the seat too narrow and order a wider one. Parts can fall off the shifter levers if not used correctly.

Not that looks are important in a bike that has comfort and plenty of quality features,but hmmm yellow? rides nice and smooth,i like the gear controls, they switch easy and overall bike is well made,great price!

Product was delivered promptly as expected. Assembly was easy. Features of product met my expectations. Gear set needed adjustment ... which was challenging. Was persuaded to buy color (yellow) matching athletic shoes from Amazon. Color matching bike gloves are next! Price was FAIR and equitable.

I purchased this bike on August 30, 2011. It didn't last a year.

I assembled it and took it to a bike shop to get a tune up. I was informed that both wheels were not true and the components were not of the best quality.

I always had trouble with shifting(even after taking it to two different bike shops for tune ups)either it would skip a gear or the chain would pop out.

I mainly used it as a road bike, but the few times I took it off road on a trail the chain always popped and as I would peddle I could feel it slipping.

On one occasion the chain popped off and got tangled in the peddle. As I was down peddling and going up hill I couldn't stop resulting in the front derailleur getting yanked by the chain and completely warped(I was going pretty hard while going up the hill on a dirt trail)

I decided to give up on this bike as my main road/mountain bike. I will fix it and keep it as a road bike, but it will definitively not be seeing any trails.

I put new pedals on it and it rides smooth, I also bought the gel seat from the same brand. Rides confortably and is well built and stable. It needed work on the shifts and gears but I took it to the LBS and it's smooth now. I also added a cheap kickstand. I think the frame is a bit on the average weight but not too much. I liked the color and the rear suspension is responsive, you may be able to pull some tricks even on flat terrain. UPDATE: I took it to the woods bike trail and it took no damage, I had fun, trigger gears are pretty responsive. Tip: always wear mosquito repellent when adventuring to the woods.

I dont know if the bike was supposed to come with a kickstand.... But hey! Excellent service from Amazon, excellent service from The DownTube Albany N.Y.Excellent bike!
