I think I'm informed about reality through tv and newspapers. I think I know what's going on in conflicted areas. I think I have an opinion about countries at war. I am satisfied with my points of view but... I deceive myself. My vision of the world is not only superficial but wrong. When I first read and saw the images of this book I felt real understanding. This book is an intimate and profound expirience. This book is a piece of real madness, a piece of real war. This book does not contain brilliant images or amazing texts. This books contains honest, raw images and words. One of the best photobooks about war an memory...

I just experienced this book/story tonight. I want to say I "viewed" or "read" but that doesn't do it justice.
It is experienced. I have been protesting our wars and occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and have gone to many events in which active duty military or veterans of the Iraq and/or Afghanistan wars tell their stories. I have also listened to friends or family members who have come back and are still storing through the trauma of war.
I have also read stories, seen videos which many are graphic, and seen pictures but this book is different.

As i looked through the book I heard or felt the stories from the veterans i had listen to before.

If there is a second printing i hope it includes images and words of what Riley experienced when he came home.

I wish every high school could have this book so they have any rah, rah, kid who wants to sign up for the military take a moment to experience this book and its reality, and I also think it is a great item for those trying to explain or sort through their experience of war.

I applaud Riley and Monica and others who helped to put this experience together and I highly recommend this....
book.

This is what war is about and the results of war on individuals. No glamor, no fake heros, only real pictures and real soldiers. Perhaps congress should look at this book before going to war again.
