The best widely-available chocolate sauce I've tried, including Torani and even Ghiradelli.
I have previously bought this in 64oz bottles, four at a time, for home use. Yeah, I have a bit of a mocha problem.
The big bottles last forever, but these squeeze bottles are very convenient and take up less space on the counter.

Another huge plus is when the bottle is empty you can wash them in the dishwasher and reuse them. They work great with thinner stuff like oils and syrups. They're designed to sit upside down and the plastic is translucent so you can see how much is in the bottle.

Just for fun, I brought 9 different chocolate sauces and syrups to a party today and 11 adults happily took part in a totally unscientific blind chocolate taste test. I cannot not defend our method, but here is what we did: samples of each sauce were placed on different plates which were numbered only for identification and a master list of the sauce names and numbers was hidden. Everyone was asked for vote twice, once for their favorite and once for their least favorite sauce. The sauces were:
Dilettante Semisweet Ephemere Sauce
Ghirardelli Chocolate Chocolate Flavored Sauce
Hershey's Special Dark Syrup
Hersheys Genuine Chocolate Flavor Syrup
Monin Dark Chocolate Sauce
Smucker's Hot Dark Chocolate Topping
St. Dalfour Organic Gourmet Sauce Chocolate
Torani Dark Chocolate Sauce
Torani White Chocolate Sauce

Obviously, the white chocolate sauce looked different, but all the others looked fairly identical. A couple of the really thick sauces were microwaved for a few seconds to make them puddle on the plate so they would look similar to the others. Yes, I realize the heat could have affected flavor perceptions and this test won't stand up in Scientific American. The results are further skewed for the reason that one person had 2 favorites and both votes got recorded! You may rightly complain the results have been fudged, but I will report them anyway. The sauce that got the most "best" votes was Monin Dark Chocolate Sauce which almost half (5) of the people picked as their favorite. Second place went to Smucker's Hot Dark Chocolate Topping with 3 "best" votes, then St. Dalfour Organic Gourmet Sauce Chocolate with 2 votes and then 1 vote each for Hershey's Special Dark Syrup and Hersheys Genuine Chocolate Flavor Syrup.

I first tried this sauce in a mocha at the Bourbon Cafe in NYC and was hooked. I was delighted to find out that Amazon sold it! The only disadvantage is that it's very difficult to get the sauce(like hot fudge) out of the container. Microwaving it for 10 seconds helps it flow better.

I use this along with some starbucks via to make a Mocha iced coffee! if you keep it in the fridge it's almost like fudge, it's thick but not too thick. great over iced cream, dissolves in milk too if you like dark chocolate milk, it tastes sweet but not too sweet and truly has a dark chocolate taste to it. It comes in a case of 6 bottles and each bottle lasts you quite a bit. my case expires in 11/2012 so I have pleanty of time to use it all considering there's 4 iced coffee drinkers in my household and everyone likes this stuff. It would be good dipped in fruit also. I like cold strawberries and bananas with it.

This is absolutely delicious! Thick, creamy and lots of taste! Great for ice cream- a dollop in your morning coffee- anything you would use regular chocolate sauce.

My initial thoughts were that it tasted like another version of Hershey's, and also "Oh my god why did I just buy a case of 6". However, I compared the actual bottle of Hershey's with the Monin - the Monin tasted like a vamped up version of the american classic (and unsatisfying) Hershey's. Another con would be that it tasted too sweet to be considered "Dark" necessarily, but after I added the sauce into a double shot of espresso, it tasted great (I guess some of the sweet was canceled out with the coffee)! Monin is made to compliment coffee, so I wouldn't pair the sauce with anything else like ice cream, cake, etc. - it's just too sweet alone (for me). Overall, I expected to be wow'ed just a bit more but it tasted excellent in my latte.
(at least the bottles are reusable as another review said).

I LOVE Starbucks mochas and try to recreate at home, but it never compares....even with Starbucks mocha powder! I'm sure the problem is that its not just the chocolate that makes Starbucks better....it is the espresso, steamed milk and entire process. ANYWAY, I was disappointed with this sauce....it doesn't have the chocolate taste I was looking for....just sweet. Also it seems like I have to use a lot in each cup. So far, out of Monin, Giardelli, Starbucks powder, and Torani.....I prefer Torani to all since it has more of a chocolate flavor than just sweet....so I will get back to using Torani.

I'm a big fan of Starbucks mochas, and this sauce is so close to what I'm used to, I am saving so much money just making my mochas and mocha frapaccinos at home. I use a Bialetti 3 cup espresso maker/perculator which makes some espresso-like coffee in 4 minutes, dump it into a cup and add this sauce, then put some milk in my small french press and put in the microwave for a minute or so. After a few pumps up and down with the french press, it is foamy and creamy and I dump it into the cup and stir everything together, so tasty!
