I inserted the ovule before bed, and the next day I woke up with the worst sensation of burning and itching that I've EVER experienced.

Ok after reading the reviews I looked into this because I've used the Monistat 1 three times. The first time I used it there were no issues. The second and third time I used it, it felt like I'd set myself on fire. I was really confused so now that I need to use it again I did a little label reading and guess what, there are 2 different Monistat 1's! The first one is a pre-filled 1 day applicator and contains 300 mg of Ticonozale (6.5%). The second one is an ovule insert 1 day applicator and contains 1200 mg of Miconazole. They both work within a roughly 24 hour time frame and need only a single application, however the ovule 1200 mg Miconazole is the one that set me on fire. The other one worked great and didn't burn, just tingled a bit, similar to a topical numbing ointment. Both are best used at night just before bed since they are a bit messy. However I will be avoiding the ovule from now on and going with the 300 mg of Ticonozale. Hopefully this is helpful to others out there. Wish they'd thought to make it more obvious :-S.

OKAY. So I developed a yeast infection when I started taking antibiotics this week. Don't tell me it is not a yeast infection because I took two home-tests and have had many in the past. I'm in my 20's and have never been allergic to any medicine and have never even broken out in a rash until this devil medicine.

I went out and bought the one day hoping to clear it up quickly. THEN I read the reviews. I thought everyone was being dramatic, but guess what- an hour after I used it I was in a TON of pain. It started off as a mild itching but turned into an unbearable itching burning sensation. After two hours I couldn't handle it and used water to try and rinse it out. (you don't even want to know how I got it all out.)

I then sat there with an ice pack to get the burning to stop. I have never written a review and thought everybody was just exaggerating, but I will never use this product again and will tell everyone I know to avoid it. JUST USE THE THREE DAY! It takes longer but is not super intense. I wish I had not tried to rush the treatment and do the one day.

And lastly- if you are one of the few blessed ones who did not have a reaction, then you have a vagina of steel. congratulations.

I purchased this product at Target, then came home to research it. I was very worried when I read all of the reviews here, so I put it off for an extra 2 days. My Mom (and itching) finally talked me in to trying it. I decided to use it at night... didn't have any issues at all with it. Within 24 hours, I was already feeling A LOT better. There was very little leakage over the next few days, nothing a liner couldn't handle.

Remember when reading these reviews: You're going to get people posting here who had bad experiences because honestly, who's motivated to spend the time to write the review unless their experience was bad or great? Especially with this kind of product, not everyone is going to rush to their computers and review it. Also, I'm wondering if it's possible that some people had the reaction because they didn't really have a yeast infection (not all, some). It's very important to make sure you have a yeast infection before you use any products for it.

The only con: The insert (medication) contains gelatin. Who honestly wants to put the collagen from inside animals' skin and bones inside their va-jay-jay? I'm a vegetarian, but had to choose my battles because I was suffering (and out $20 if I didn't use it).

I was just like most of you... First time yeast infection in eons. I remembered the commercials and just wanted to clear everything up before it got bad. I wasn't uncomfortable, just cautious. I ran to the store before my last 3 hours at work. Popped the little guy in, stared at the box for 5 minutes reading a novel of lovely reactions one might have. Felt pretty confident this was going to be the easiest thing I've ever done for myself. Wrong.... I was so wrong. At first, just standing at work was no issue, just a little discharge to deal with, no big thang. About 2 hours later however I could feel this uncomfortable feeling stirring over my poor little snatch. I figured my underwear was just irritating the poor little thing. The last 10 minutes of work my boyfriend showed up and I was hunched over a freezer in the back, breathing as though I was about to give birth to satan himself. I followed my boyfriend home with one hand on the wheel and the other pulling my shorts aside praying that the ac would somehow reach my poor little "who" and make her feel better. I waddle in the house and my boyfriend tried to touch my butt... I slapped his hand down and suddenly the devil leaped into my body and lashed out at him. The meanness rolled from my tongue, but I couldn't be touched. Boyfriend simply couldn't understand, when I finally came to, that my Netherlands felt as though a large colony of fire ants had decided to call it home and were celebrating by setting off fireworks and eating wasabi covered hotdogs while the red hot chili peppers gave a killer performance of "come on Baby Light my Fire." I crawled in bed and whimpered for god to just take my life... He didn't. I found a nice position to lay in, spread eagle. The burning eventually stops ladies.... But if I were you...Read more ›
