I was looking forward to testing out this new baby monitor. When I first tried it out I was impressed with the picture quality and even more so once I hooked the video to my tv. At this point in time the camera was in the same room as the receiver. I then brought the camera upstairs to the baby's room and I could barely get a signal, no matter how I positioned it. The manufacturer claims the reception is good up to 100 meters. The baby's room is was about 30 feet away and all I got was static! Back to the store it goes! Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product.

I've checked most available video baby monitors and landed on this one from a club warehouse at ~$100.

Pros:
Nice color screen with good picture quality;
Infrared for night view works well;
A/V out;
True portability and works well with NiMH rechargeable batteries.

Cons:
In sufficient volume;
Static noise if used 80-100 ft in our environment;
Analog signal has no security

There's a new model out with digital FHSS, which should offer security as well as longer distance and better battery life.

I really never take the time to write reviews, but this product was such a stinker I felt obligated to warn people. I received my monitor system several days ago and have been ATTEMPTING to use it during that time. The product is not broken, but it does not work properly. The video monitor has so much static that I cannot even see my baby. It does not matter where I take the monitor in my house, even right outside the baby's door, the reception is completely unacceptable. Also, the reception is so poor that I cannot use the audio function at all to listen to the baby because if I have the volume on at all the only thing you can hear is static. I can't hear the baby over the static and even if I could, I don't want to listen to constant static all night. I am extremely dissatisfied with this product. I'm returning it.

I got this monitor to keep an eye on the baby and it works great for the price!! It has night vision and both the camera and the receiver can work on batteries. The only flaw it has is that the volume on the receiver is very low. :(...But who needs to hear when u can see!! also it allows u to connect it to any big tv via A/V cables. I recommend this camera to everyone...why pay almost $200 for the same thing??

Got my Q-See and set it up. Monitor had great reception as long as you don't set it up too far from the receiver. Although its understandable that the more interference the poorer the quality of picture and sound. Overall its a good product. Anyway most parents keep their baby's room next to theirs so that they can have a quick access to their baby, so the static and picture are not really an issue unless you are very far from each other. I would recommend this product because its affordable and great for monitoring your baby.

Monitor uses up batteries very quickly. Affected by interference from cell phones, laptops and any wireless/cordless device nearby. Picture quality is very good and works very well in low light conditions. I would only recommend as a back up monitor or for travel away from home. I would recommend only if purchased for less than $75
