This book is in the public domain, so you can find it for free on the web.
This book is not about animals, medicine or vetenary care. (At the moment I write this Amazon catalogues this as: non fiction > [...] > Veterinary Medicine > Small Animal Medicine.)
This little book of only a few pages has some stories and poems for children in it. Only a few are about animals, most are about children. The book has illustrations (at least the Project Gutenberg version has, at the moment I write this Amazon does not offer this book for free, it only offers paid versions). The editor book was Palmer Cox, who lived from 1840-1924, so the book must be pre-1925 (exact date is not mentioned in the book or on Wikepedia).
This book is for kids, hyphens are used to make it easier to read. To give you a example I will copy the first 4 lines of the first poem (='Monkey Jack' [who is a kid who climbs a tree and not an animal]) of this book:
A lit-tle maid weeps pit-e-ous-ly,
In dire dis-tress de-mand-ing aid;
Her pre-cious ball is up a tree,
And ev-ery boy shrinks back a-fraid.
