5.0 out of 5 stars Hattiesburg's local boys getting bigger..., March 7, 1999
By A Customer
This is a great CD! It has the perfect mix of acoustic and electric, passionate lyrics, vocals and background harmonies, percussion, and all out jams. Steve does a great job in "Affection (is a touchy subject)". It has a great bass line and is straight up funk. Tony's percussion blends perfectly with the bass, drums, and electric guitar in "Addicted to you". It also has balads like "Made for Two" and "Same but Different Blues" that show off Dan's voice and lyrical ability. This CD reminds me alot of Sister Hazel's debut "Somewhere more Familiar" and is just as excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Destined to be a classic, December 5, 2002
By Eldon Ideus (Melbourne, FL United States) - See all my reviews
The first major release for King Konga will exceed all of your expectations. King Konga seems to be one step away from busting through to mainstream radio. When that happens, this album will become an instant classic. There is a song for everyone on this album. It remains a favorite of mine and stands up well against their newer albums. This is clearly the product of very talented guys who love what they are doing. Each song is filled with great memories of open air bars along the panhandle coast of Florida. The steel drum sound mixed with the funky bass takes you on the ride. Don't miss this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars tight grooves and impecable musicianship!!, March 7, 1999
By A Customer
This is one of the better indie CD's i've purchased in a long time. This band is great on the idsc and live!! Highly recommend this cd and their upcoming release "halo." Not a bunch of slackers who grind out music, these are real musicians who don't discover anything by accident, they know what they are doing and they are great at it!
