not the cd you think it is,
By Kirk D. Gardner (San Francisco, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Monkeybone (2001 Film) (Audio CD)
this is the score from the movie, not a soundtrack of the songs from the movie. A big mistake on the part of the record company, as Monkey Bone has one of the best soundtracks of the year.

missing song?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Monkeybone (2001 Film) (Audio CD)
i nkow this soundtrack was meant to only contain the ochestral songs from monkeybone, but it would have made much better listening if it contained some of the other songs heard in the film. for example, the cool pop/rock song at the end which i cant seem to find the name of. it sounds like the main words in the chorus are "some other world". whats it called and who's it by?

could've been more,
This review is from: Monkeybone (2001 Film) (Audio CD)
the score is good, but this cd wouldve been better if they would have thrown in some of the songs. I would have loved to get whatever song was playing during the scene where monkeybone is dreaming on the golf course and hpnos interrupts him. Also not to be missed was Brendan Fraser singing Brickhouse. They missed some great opportunities with this cd.

Welcome to Downtown....,
By Libby Cudmore (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Monkeybone (2001 Film) (Audio CD)
I highly recommend this CD to any fan of Monkeybone--or anyone interested in wonderful music. The only reason I didn't give this CD 5 stars is because it is missing two wonderful tracks--Monekybone's "Loose Caboose" song from the Coma Bar and Brendan Fraser's outstanding performance of "Brick House" The best track off this CD would have to be "Welcome to Downtown" (Track 2) The beginning is a bit slow, but anyone who knows the movie recognizes the swelling music 1 minute and 19 seconds in as the roller-coster ride into Downtown--I recommend putting this on either huge speakers or headphones, turning out the lights, laying down and closing your eyes while listening to this track--it's so enriching that you can almost feel the plunge into purgatory. This CD is far from it, though--it's like a little sample of Heaven.
