The Most Beautiful Rooms,
By
This review is from: Monochrome (Hardcover)
Now these are beautiful rooms. The book itself is not as lavish in it's size and bulk as some other decorating books but inside are some of the most lovely rooms I have ever seen. What marvelous selections by the author, who obviously has excellent taste in interior design. No hackneyed photos here. This is a book full of original rooms. Many ideas for sophisticated decorating. Such a pleasure as country, traditional, and modern have been done to death. Good work!

The rich monochromatic palette...,
By PVR (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Monochrome (Hardcover)
Paula Rice Jackson has produced a superb tome with rich images and eximious accompanying commentaries. The work showcases exemplary projects of some of the foremost contemporary exponents of monochromatic design. Rather than being languid or monotonous, the book illustrates how monochromatic approaches actually yield rich and lush textures, an overall soothing effect still possessed of vibrant and intense visual interest. This images in the book are a feast for pure enjoyment or source for reference and inspiration.

A Beautiful Book About Interior Design,

This review is from: Monochrome (Hardcover)
This book presents work with an underlying intelligent, bordering on intellectual, point of view; it goes beyond just presenting pretty pictures. John Saladino's introduction is insightful and interesting; his intro does give one insight into the color theory that underlies the work of this extremely talented and fiercely intelligent designer. I recommend this book for these reasons to designers and those serious about design. This is not a book for those that are looking for a lot of pretty pictures to get ideas from.

I am a designer and decorative painter & love this book. I love modern mixed with classic and elegant rustic--lots of ideas--and can mix and match--don't like the cold interiors but love the cleanness but would add my own touches of comfort, old and elegant
Great book

Pretty, but not practical interiors. I have yet to meet a Client that would want to have a such a cold, sterile interior designed for them. My opinion is to pass on this one.
