A Raw, Edgy, Sexy look into the life of a Swinger,

This review is from: Monogamy Sucks (Kindle Edition)
Monogamy Sucks is a raw, edgy, sexy look into the life of swinger Jake Dalmas. Jake is on a personal journey to find his sexual identity in the world of swingers. Throughout the book he is faced with situations that are both funny and tragic. The story reaches beyond mere sexual escapades to the emotional and physical impacts of sexual self-confidence. As the story progresses, we watch Jake find his footing in this alternative lifestyle. I enjoyed this book very much. It's a rare occasion that I, as a woman, get to peek inside the mind of a man. This book gave me that opportunity. I recommend this book for both men and women.

When I first decided to read this book it was only because i loved the title. I am a female swinger that is against "physical" monogamy obviously. I finally got to read a book that explains the difference between emotional mongamy and physical monggamy. I was delighted to find out this was a book about swinging! I want a movie made based on this book. I found myself from page one nodding in agreement with Jake's thought process. As I took the adventure with him i again found myself agreeing even more about the ups and downs of the swingling lifestyle. I have many single male friends that have walked in Jake's shoes. I had to roll on the floor laughing when it came to Jake's views and experiences with Viagra. I, also, fell in love with Juliette.I was lost for hours in this story. The raunchy truth, the misconceptions, and the hilarious of the underground lifestyle that is much more popular than you can imagine is touched on by this great write, George Pappas. I am excited about the amount of people picking up this book because of the title and then finding out it is all about my lifestyle which i follow almost like a religion. I need a sequal soon! !

Monogamy Sucks is an erotic novel recommended by my wife. With such a title, I really didn't know what to expect, but I must admit I enjoyed it.First off, the sex is great. I enjoyed the description of the casual sexual encounters. Though I'm happily married, the freedom of this alternative lifestyle seemed very liberating. The description of the lead character's escapades is real, raw, and done in a way that makes him multi-dimensional. That in itself, makes the book a worthy read.

Monogomy Sucks - more than sexy, a social statement,
This review is from: Monogamy Sucks (Kindle Edition)
Monogomy Sucks, by George Pappas, can be read on a few levels. It's certainly a sizzling, sexy read, especially good now for beach days. Jake Dalmas' sexual adventures and misadventures will keep your eyes glued to the pages until you finish. (and until he finishes) But will you really ever finish? Jake represents an important dilemma in today's relationship enigmas. He is looking for sexual fulfillment, and he's almost a metaphor for all of us. Will he find it? How? It is all possible to find fulfillment with one person over a long period of time? We all ask these questions, and Jake is not the solution but the question. Marriage and commitment to one seems to be at a fork in the road. With 1 out of 2 marriages failing, is there an alternative in sex sharing, open marriages, etc. So after the sizzling read, you're left with this question, which way do I go? No answer. You have to decide. George Pappas merely poses the question, albeit with brilliant, deft writing. Grab a copy today!

I loved this book! It made me smile and smirk in all the right places and for all the right reasons. The main character, Jake, is instantly lovable as he takes you on his journey of discovery and the people he meets along the way are not only fascinating but so much fun too! I read this book in kindle and the way that it's formatted made for a very easy, portable read. Each chapter focuses on the next step of Jake's (mis)adventures, with a down to earth view on the swinging lifestyle. Often funny, always saucy and open minded throughout, I fully commend George Pappas and recommend Monogamy Sucks to my naughtiest of friends as well as to my Daily Mail reading mum.

I found the story quite intriguing and erotic. Mr Pappas really kept his story honest and real. I had many laughs, lots of wetness, and even a couple of moments that made me cringe. I would highly recommend you read this book if you are interested in swinging either to become one or just to gain more knowledge of what an alternative lifestyle would feel like as well as the journey a wild side can only embraces.

I like a hot read as much as the next chick, so I was thrilled to see this peek into a lifestyle I've personally had no experience with--but that's what makes it fun! Pappas is a talented writer, fusing drama and humor into his characters, showing us the life of a swinger and all that goes along with it in a very real way. This book does not paint a rosy picture -- Jake Dalmas is desperate for sex and much of his exploits don't turn out as he fantasizes. In fact, the reality of many of the situations he gets himself into are downright cringe-inducing -- and laugh out loud funny. I really enjoyed this well-written journey Jake brings us on and look forward to the next book!

Sizzling and titillating,
This review is from: Monogamy Sucks (Kindle Edition)
Monogamy Sucks character, Jake Dalmas is a raw, edgy and sexy character that has taken a walk on the wild side and stepped into the life of a swinger. A lifestyle that many shy away from except in dreams, only for Jake it becomes reality. He goes from being a sexually frustrated man and sets his sights on attachment free sex. And by attachment I mean emotionless sex. But the path before him is uncharted territory. Jakes journey is filled with drama, roadblocks, misadventures and humor and just enough erotic exploration to keep readers begging for more.George has created a world in which most only live out in dreams. His character is built on brutal honesty and is emotionally compelling as a lead character. George's story grips the reader into wanting more and arousing them to a level where they can feel and identify with Jake and his fantasies; whether you live the lifestyle of a swinger in reality or in your mind. This is a story for all who need to take a trip on the wilder side of life and admit to themselves exactly what they want. Truly and intriguing and compelling piece, and I can't wait for George to write more.

An uncensored, and honest account of a single male swinger.,

George Pappas' Monogamy Sucks is an uncensored, and honest account of a single male swinger.Disclosure: I purchased, and read Monogamy Sucks without any prior arrangement with the author. I enjoyed George Pappas' fabulous poetry, and found my self curious about his book. Monogamy Sucks is a diary based on Jake, a sexually frustrated man intent on embarking into a lifestyle of attachment-free sex. Jake is an interesting character reminiscent of Charlie Harper (not Charlie Sheen) of Two and a Half Men gone viral without the alcohol addiction. Much like Charlie Harper's character Jake ultimately is a pleaser, shy, and often lacks confidence, in his encounters with women. Jake approaches his sexuality through self-analysis. In the beginning, he concludes his previous relationships became sexually boring therefore; variety without emotion becomes his idea of a solution. Immediately, Jake embarks on the rocky path of emotionless sex. George provides his reader with an explicit detailed diary of Jake's experience. His description is honest and he certainly does not get caught up in painting a rosy picture of the swinger lifestyle. I applaud his brutal honesty. Jake faces many roadblocks and a multitude of emotions, which often translate into sadness. Ironically, Jake's character seems incredibly in touch with his feelings and limitations. The reason he embarks upon this lifestyle counters the assumption one might have about him. Jake is in fact very emotional and struggles to guard what he believes is a weakness. Several times throughout his encounters, he feels wounded by his partners' lack of emotion for him. This honesty provides a commendable reality to Jake's story. The author's account primarily focuses on the single man's journey. However, he does not fail to give insight into the couples viewpoint and reason for the swinger lifestyle. George Pappas' Monogamy Sucks is well-written and thorough. I was personally taken back a bit by the extremely hard-work and effort this lifestyle presented for Jake. Sometimes, I felt sorry for Jake, as his encounters often seemed unnecessarily demeaning for a guy by all accounts who was sensitive, caring, and likeable. I commend the author for not presenting the subject as all fun and games. George Pappas is a very talented and conscientious author!

He had me from the first few pages. Curiosity fueled my reading even through the darkest, grittiest parts of the book. He told the story from a really rough place when it got there and I was so rooting for Jake. George writes it true; hitting on all aspects of casual sex and Jake's feelings along the way. Being a huge fan of romance, I was thrilled that our Jake got the prize at the end he'd been seeking all along.
