This review is from: Monongalia County, (West) Virginia, Records of the District, Superior and County Courts, Volume 7: 1808-1814 (Paperback)
Monongalia County (West) Virginia, Records of the District, Superior, and County Courts, Volume 7: 18018-1814, is one volume of an 11 Volume work. The compiler, Melba Pender Zinn is a role model for genealogists. She has made the court records of Monongalia County for 1776-1822 readily available to amateur genealogists and family historians. I recommend the set to anyone interested in early West Virginia history, especially folks whose ancestors were pioneer settlers of Monongalia and Preston Counties (West) Virginia.Recently I have obtained copies of several of the original records. I marvel at Mrs. Zinn's gift for reading and transcribing 18th and early 19th Century script. |
