Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Monopoly Party is an intense buying, trading, building, and deal-making frenzy, in which every player moves simultaneously. Here's how it works: everyone rolls a set of dice at the same time. As soon as everyone rolls, everyone moves. Then you can buy property, pass Go, draw cards from Community Chest, and do all the other Monopoly actions you know and love. There are all-new 3-D environments, complete with animated theme tokens and even new properties. Choose from fantasy, sci-fi, prehistoric, ancient monuments, and classic game boards.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great party game!!, November 18, 2002

I've played Monopoly Party for both PS2 and the Xbox. Both were great!! This game is great because everyone rolls at once so there's no waiting forever for it to be your turn. However, if you are going to play with 4 players, make sure your TV is 27" or larger because it makes it easier to see. You can play against the machine, customize your own rules and even select different board layouts. If you like Monopoly, this game is for you.

= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Monopoly Party (Video Game)
I've always been a big fan of board games on video consoles. Monopoly Party was next on the list, and while it was fun the first few times playing it, it does get old fairly quick. The NPCs if you choose to play with them are very predictable and annoying at times. I also found myself getting bored and clicking buttons to quicken the pace at times, primarily because the animations can take a while.

Some members of my household enjoy competing with each other for high scores, but the computer goes no higher than $99,999. Heck, I can get that in well under an hour of playing, and by that time I am too bored to care. I'll probably throw this game on once in a blue moon to kill some time, but that'll be about it for me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good game gone bad on the Xbox, April 14, 2003
This review is from: Monopoly Party (Video Game)
Here is a case of a great game gone bad to the console. At least you can choose from 5 different boards or themes. However, the game quickly becomes redundant watching your piece move the alloted squares. Even though you can speed through the walking it still is quite boring. Trading and building are almost impossible as you can't read the streets on the screen that allows you to do that. Overall, spend your money on something else.
