We are big Monopoly players and were waiting for this game to come out but it was a big disappointment.

Pros - The pictures and animations are quite impressive. The boards are cute and the pieces give you lots of options. The music is nice.

Cons - You can only play with 4 humans if you have 4 controllers. Otherwise you can play with two humans and two bots. You cannot play with less than 4 players ever. The animations cannot be skipped, so it takes a long time for each turn. Like you could go to the kitchen and make a sandwich before it is your turn again. The music does get a little annoying. Also, some of the boards do not use standard money, so if you play an international board, you get 1.5 million instead of $1500, and then you have to play 200K instead of $200 for income tax. It would show how much money you have as in 1.75M. I didn't really like that, but you can't play that board with standard money.

The game only uses the x button and nothing else, so you can tell it was made for a mouse and computer.

You only get one view of the board and that is from the top, you can't toggle the view or close in or anything.

We like to play with 4 humans and we only have two controllers. We play Monopoly Party which is a much better playstation 2 game. And it's $10 less and much more fun.

Monopoly is a very fun game for ps2. You can choose what object or whatever it is you like to be. Like the dog or the car and many more. You can choose how many cpu players you want to take on. But just like real life monopoly, it takes a realllly long time just to finish a game. Sometimes longer than real life. I know it's hard to belive.

It still can be fun though. Choose wisley on your moves. Those cpu guys are pretty good. Better if you use the old ps2 that has a fan in it so your ps2 won't get overheated and quit on you. It that does not matter to you, than you can use the new one. Just a sugestion.

Bought this game for my husband and he absolutely loves it. He could never find anyone to play the Monopoly boardgame, but now he can play by himself!

This game is nice but it could be a lot better. It's hard to see the board and Mr. Monopoly gets annoying. Different boards are interesting but some of them are so small you can't really see them. There are probably better Monopoly games out there.

Game was delivered in a timely manner.It was a gift for my 9 year old grandson.He enjoys playing it and says it is lots of fun.He likes to play it as well as the board game monopoly.

Was very disappointed in this game. We spent good money on it. Found that the same color computer person does the same thing all the time. Often the same properties....... Would only be good if there are four players so that humans are making different choices. Tried calling the company to complain to them. Could never get anyone on the phone or a call back.

I'm not a "gamer" (that's my husbands title) but I bought this for us to play together and ended up liking it SO much, that when I can't sleep at night I sneak into the den to play and quickly find that 2-3 hours have passed in the blink of an eye! It's addictive and the graphics in the PS3 version are awesome!

My son & I got this game for Christmas 08 & like it. HOWEVER, the music & Mr. Monopoly get annoying really fast. There should be an Option to mute him or something. There should also be an option to change the music to Classical or none. Our TV's a 30 in & we practically have to sit directly in front of it to play. The game was NOT meant for smaller screens at all. The other boards are ok, not really that impressive. Buying houses in sets instead of 1 at a time is a cool feature. Moving the analogstick or pressing the arrow buttons to move around is a pain in the butt. If you miss your mark, you could end up anywhere on the screen. Sometimes, you land where you want to go, but it's not flashing/blinking so you have to move a tad, then try again. I like the fact that after you roll the dice, you get them shown to you so you can see what you rolled. The computers are mega hard to trade with. We play the online version at [...] & the computer players are a whole lot easier to trade with. The ones in this game won't take less than [...] for a property not even worth that amount. Trading is another pain in the butt. If you're rejected, you can't re-offer the same thing. You have to start all over & jack up the cash part to even get considered. My son & I have played with the computers on this version & so far, they're winning. Not because they have more property or houses/hotels, but by cash alone. Both of us have hotels on 4 monopolies each & yet we're the bottom 2 players. Go friggen figure!


Bottom line....Don't waste your time buying this game for the PS2. Save your money for the real board game or buy a Club Pogo yearly membership & have more fun playing it online.

I got this as a gift as I love to play. But we still haven't figured out how to buy houses and hotels. I was not happy about this. I couldn't find it in the directions. I called the helpline and they couldn't help me. so what fun is playing this game if I can't buy houses??? The graphics are good but the game takes forever. I just am not happy that I got this game after I really wanted it.

I enjoy this game for a short time... then I get a little board. It has some glitches.
