I rue the day when the FCC commanded television stations to convert from analog to digital broadcasting. I live in a suburb of Minneapolis and NEVER experienced difficulty with reception until the new system arrived. Now, when the wind blows, a plane flies overhead, it rains or snows, the signal drops to a point where there simply is no picture or it disintegrates into a jig-saw puzzle. I've tried four different amplified and unamplified indoor antennas with generally lousy results. This antenna, however, has made reception far more reliable. Not perfect but much better than others.

Looking to get rid of over priced cable tv and being stuck with a program package of channels I never watch and I have to pay for the same old tired movies just being shifted from channel to channel, plus also stuck with paying $7.50 a month rental fee for the cable box and even a rental fee for the remote on top of the program package, I decided to buy the Monoprice Antenna. Hook up was a snap. But what I did was to replace the cable that comes with it, to a high quality longer RG-6U cable and located the antenna close to a window. I hooked the antenna up and then set my TV to the auto program mode. To my absolute shock, I picked up about 25 different channels and also music channels. Even foreign broadcasts I never knew existed. Very good value. I will save $150.00 a year just on basic cable and the cable box rental fee the first year and that is for 1 TV. I am going to add 2 more Monoprice antenna's to my other 2 TV's and save another $90 per tv per year. And the picture I get is razor sharp.

Worked much better than my other indoor antenna. Works best in a window. My friends who have this antenna bought it to watch the Olympics when they were camping.

I bought this due to the lower price, yet was concerned about the power due to being 30-35 miles from signal sources. Even with distance and being placed inside, I was able to get some decent signals but not enough on some of the primary network stations. If you are within 10-15 miles, I would think this would be a great antenna.

For where I live (apt. half into the earth but not quite basement), this device does quite right with me. I'm surrounded by trees, a pond/lake, and yet I can get the basics. I vowed a long time ago to never get cable; waste of money, and thanks to this, I can follow through.

I did some research on indoor HDTV antennas for those of us living in concrete and brick structures and in urban centers. The article I referenced lauded the Cable Cutter and their research was quite accurate as the Cable Cutter is working for me. I just wanted to try out some of the others they reviewed to see if I could get more than just the public tv channels that I am currently getting, in HD, via the Cable Cutter. I was kind of looking to see if I could get ABC or NBC etc... As it turns out, this antenna, for me, got the same exact channels the Cutter does.

Topography and nuances of our individual locations have major impact. I live in a concrete high rise where there are 2 buildings, connected by a clubhouse and bordered by a mountainous structure. When I first moved here I had a Leaf and when I called Leaf about the fact it was not working, they did some research, came back and half-laughingly said "it is definitely not going to work at your location!" So the article was a good reference point and it introduced me to the cutter and this monoprice antenna. Both work and both work very well. Different price points and the cutter does not have an A/C adapter so that might be something you need to consider as this one does.

I am going to use both this one and the cutter as I have 2 televisions. Best of luck to all of you high-rise, city-dwellers who are completely tired of paying egregiously high cable bills and are looking for the modern day rabbit ears! The cutter and this monoprice do the trick!
