Product Description

Size: Only Bluetooth 2.0 | Color: Black

DJs can put in some long hours as they spin the tunes and they need equipment that is both comfortable and rugged enough to withstand heavy use. These Monoprice Pro Headphones are designed for the professional sound spinner and the casual listener that wants the best quality sound and best durability available.

The earpieces on these 'phones are equipped with thick, comfortable padding that keeps the music inside and the noise outside. They swivel up to 90 degrees so they can double as a makeshift set of speakers. The headphones can extend up to 1.5" on each side and are wide enough to fit over a cap, while maintaining good contact over the ears. The headpiece is also padded on the inside and is made of flexible rubber, ensuring that it won't break.

The headsets do not have a fixed wire. Instead, there is a 3.5 mm jack in the bottom of the left earpiece, which allows a standard 3.5 mm audio patch cable to be inserted. This means that if you break a wire, you don't have to throw away the headphones or make a messy repair; just get a new cable and you're ready to rock again!

The 50 mm drivers and 100 dB sensitivity ensure that these 'phones produce good volume and premium sound clarity at all frequencies. The kit comes with two 3.5 mm male-to-male, gold-plated audio cables and a 3.5 mm to 1/4" gold-plated adapter plug.

The thicker cable is over 11.5 ft long and is well suited for professional work and for laying back on your couch to enjoy the tunes. A thinner, lightweight cable is also included, which measures about 50" in length and is better suited for more portable operations.

High-quality sound, supreme durability, and maximum comfort. These ARE the 'phones you've been looking for!

Customer Reviews

Very clear sound and good bass.

Only con would be that they are a little tight around the ears, so it does get uncomfortable wearing them for extended periods of time.

This product really surprised me, is lightweight, comfortable and well built, have a very good sound quality for what it costs.

First off, let me start by saying that this is probably the best sounding new headphone that you are going to get at the 25 and under price range.

Postives
+ good bass
+ strong full-bodied midrange
+ very good sound isolation; much better than the similarly priced Sennheiser HD201 in this department.
+ light for a fullsize headphone
+ detacheable cable. Super-easy to replace if needed.
+ solid construction for headphones made of all plastic. Seems less flimsy than the HD201
+ highly flexible headband and great range of pivoting.
+ foldable for maximum portability.

Negative
- rolled off highs, which is quite noticeable due how much these phones emphasizes the midrange.
- because it is so light and made of plastic, you can hear sound being transmited through the cable if the cable rubs against anything.
- very uncomfortable headband after about 15 minutes. The padding is small and segmented into 3 sections. This creates small areas of contact which adds extra pressure to top of the head. Not good for someone with a sensitive scalp. I'll have to find a way add extra padding to them.
- The use of vinyl material for the ear cushions. I would have prefered some softer cheap pleather instead which would be more comfortable. However, the vinyl material does aid quite a bit in sound isolation. That's why they tend to use this material for hearing protecting earmuffs.

In many ways, this headphone is the opposite of the Sennheiser HD201, which another bang for the buck contender. The HD201 was shy on bass, and good at everything else. These Monoprice headphones is a bit shy on the treble, but good at everything below.

The Monoprice 8323 is a clear standout in the budget headphone department. The build quality, though plastic, never seems weak or flimsy. Sound, though warm and some what bass heavy is nicely detailed and offers a fair sound stage, considering the price point. They can be a tad slow during the most demanding of pieces and smidgen congested. But aside from that I've really found few problems with these cans. The only reoccurring problem seems to be comfort, but more on that in the video. Enjoy!

Before buying new headphones, I took some time to research different brands with the intention of finding the highest quality headphone for the money. Having just gotten back into the headphone listening hobby, I wanted to maximize my value and keep my initial expense below $100 with the idea I would later upgrade to a $200-$300 model after I get more involved with the hobby..

As a high-end home stereo buff, I have realized that you don't always have to spend money on exquisite audiophile brand names to get a superior sounding product. So I started my search by looking on the many headphone guru blogs. In my search, over and over again I kept seeing these Monoprice 8323's singled out as being exceptional sounding headphone and often times being compared against headphones such as the Beats by Dr. Dre and other high-end and celebrity endorsed models costing up to $300.

Being tempted by all the positive reviews, I picked up a pair here on Amazon and I was truly amazed by the quality listening experience!

A lot of people say they are base heavy. I would personally agree that the 8323's have the ability to generate amazing bass when the bass is turned up or when a bass boost is on, however, under normal listening they exceed in their ability to to clearly & accurately replicate your music and they provide a wonderful soundstage. Build quality is decent, mostly plastic and fake leather padding, but I feel that they will give me several years of service. They have a high quality look to them, and they fit nice on my head. Not the most comfortable fit, but again, for this price point they are far above average.

As a comparison, I also own a pair of Sennheiser HD201's which are around the same price.

Pros- The sound is amazing. Vocals and highs are quite clear and the bass is tight and powerful. The sound insulation is excellent. There is some sound leakage at higher volumes, but not much. The pads make a nice seal on my head and cut down on the ambient noise considerably. The detachable cords are a nice bonus at this price point. These appear to be the exact same headphones as the more expensive Kicker headphones. Stickers/decals are available for the Kicker headphones that fit perfectly on these 8323's if you want to spice up their look a bit. Easy to open packaging. Would make a great gift.

Cons- Kind of bulky. All plastic construction and plain "Monoprice" branding on the earcups may look cheap to some. My ears are on the small side, and they fit just fine, but bigger ears might not fit completely inside the earcups.

These are exactly what they are described to be. I'm no audiophile, but I can't imagine a better sounding pair of headphones for the price. I own the $30 Panasonic retro cans that are very well reviewed both here and on CNET. These Monoprice 8323's completely blow them away. Even if you are in the market for a much more expensive set of cans, I would still give these a try first. I suspect that the sound from these headphones would satisfy 99% of the population. I'd also guess that the price on these will eventually go up as people are happily spending $25 more for the exact same headphone with a different brand.
