These struts are awesome. At first I was sceptical because it seemed to good to be true. I installed them with my brother and the ride is magnificent. I've had Eibach and other monroes and I think these are the best I've had. Considering price and overall performance I would recomend them to anyone. The packaging by monroe was not so great. The box had no paper or peanuts or anything to prevent it from moving around. The sender was great amazon was and always is great and UPS was fast. I got it the earliest estimated date. I would recomend to anyone wanting to replace their struts and want a smooth ride. 5 stars

These struts are a great way to put the 'Smooth' back in your ride.

First a little comment on the work involved:
The work involved was a "little' heavy duty, but Myself being in a wheelchair and an amputee pulled it off without a hitch in about 2 hours. The first one took me an hour and a half, the second 30 minutes. Most of the time was getting the car on the jack stands and the wheels off. On the first one I couldn't get the knuckle bracket to line up with mounting holes on the new strut. After struggling with it I sat back and looked and realized I had to loosen the sway bar link bolt, because I had just replaced those (thinking that was the ride problem)and they were actually holding the knuckle firmly in an upward position. After that it all went smoothly.

The Ride afterward:

We had put over 83,000 miles on our 1998 Buick Regal. The car had seen very light use for many years(thus the low mileage). We started noticing a weird grinding like sound when we turned the steering wheel in a tight turn. Also going over railroad tracks and rough freeway( every california roadway)surfaces were really starting to bottom out and shaking the car rather badly. Buicks have always been noted for thier ride. This Regal was no exception, even though its the smaller of the fleet. The problem is that like any shock you really don't notice the change in ride because its so gradual. After putting these on it was remarkable how much better the car 'handled" on the freeway let alone the great Ride was brought back. Smooth as silk!

Because the mileage was so far over the suggested replacemnt time I opted to replace the whole strut.

As soon as I installed a set of these econo-matic struts on my Impala, the front end sounded like an old rusty door spring and rocks rattling inside a tin can. I went to an alignment shop to see if anything was wrong with the suspension and the technician knowingly shook his head when I advised him that I had just installed the struts. A quick inspection revealed both new strut bearings were bad and the springs were not properly seated when assembled. He told me these econo-matic struts are pure junk and that's why Monroe doesn't even warranty them. He also informed me that Monroe had a batch of struts that had been incorrectly assembled resulting in the same symptoms I was experiencing and they were supposed to have been returned to the factory from retailers but anyone who had already installed them was SOL. He offered to let me have a pair of new generic Chinese-made struts that fit my car for $40, so I removed these Monroe struts and installed the Chinese generics which have since performed flawlessly for over a year. I will never purchase another Monroe product.

i replaced my front struts on my 2004 chevy impala with these and the ride is just like new, and the best part is they matched my paint color of the car. If your looking for replacments i would not even waste time looking for diffrent struts just buy these.

First off their price is nice.

Secondly they require no nonsense to prep. Take the old ones off (involves 3 bolts on top, and 2 bolts on the steering knuckle). Switch the new one in, and put the bolts you just took off back on. Process shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
It does
After 200 miles no issues have been noticed. I had some coworkers in the car and they said it was a great ride (some other parts for the front suspension were replaced as well). So unless they were just being nice (trying to comfort me for spending 2 weeks on getting my car back together), the new strut assemblies (replaced both front struts) seem to work just fine. I replaced the original assembly after 160k miles. My car was feeling rough due to another issue, so I can't remember how my car felt in terms of the ride outside of the vibrations. Now it does feel very smooth.

I'll update if any issues occur.

For the price, ease and working as intended I'm giving these a 5.

These easily meet or exceed the comfort that the factory struts originally had.

Very smooth on the open road, and still able to cushion heavy bumps.
