Great upgrade to my Caravan!,

I purchased these shocks a few weeks back for my 2003 Dodge Caravan SE and I just got around to installing them last night.
Installation was a breeze and only took me a total of 30 minutes! Kudos to Dodge for making the rear shocks unbelievably easy to replace! This has got to be the easiest shock replacement I have ever done! 1. Jack up the rear end and place jack stands under the axle. 2. Remove tires. 3. Remove upper shock mounting bolts. 4. Remove lower shock mounting bolts. 5. Install lower side of shock first, but do not tighten all the way. 6. Place your jack on the body frame and raise the body so the upper mounting holes match. 7. Install upper mounting bolts and tighten to specified torque. 8. Re-tighten lower mounting bolts. 9. Re-install tires 10. Remove jack stands. I did notice that the height of the rear end was slightly raised, but only by an inch or two at the most. The ride quality is very much like the oem shocks, but the rear end does not sag and body roll is greatly reduced while driving. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to upgrade their oem shocks. I am very happy with this purchase and am sure you will be too.

I have had these shocks on for about a week now. Installation was very easy, and the ride is really nice no where as stiff as i had thought they would be. It will also be nice to be able to go on vacation and not worry about packing to much in the van.

Work, but squeeky,

These shocks work fine in my Dodge Grand Caravan. They installed easily, but they squeak whenever we go over a bump. I've tried spraying them with lithium spray grease which helps for a short while but does not last.

Great, inexpensive way to add load carrying capability,

Before installing these shock absorbers on my 2003 Grand Caravan, it seemed like any load of more than a few suitcases or people would make my van sit low, and wallow and bottom over bumps and dips. I haven't carried a load yet with them on, but I'm impressed that it only raised my unloaded ride height by about an inch. I was afraid that it might look like a jacked up back end, but it doesn't. I'm looking forwards to seeing how it handles large loads!

More stability, carry weight but noisy,

I had these on a 45K 2007 T&C Touring. The back of the car is about 2 inches higher and can carry more load without bottoming the rear. Has great stability. The only issue is that they are noisy especially in cold days. Nice if you need your van to act like a truck sometimes.

So Far So Good and a Perfect Fit,

Shocks arrived with no problem, the easiest install on my 96 Chrysler Town and Country. Four Bolts and 30 mins later had new shocks, and about a one-inch high lift in the rear. this helped me from scraping the bottom of my hitch, and from continually bottoming out with the old worn out shocks. Usually hauling around 6 adults and band equipment, and the ride is definitely not too harsh even empty. Ready to buy the front struts.

We've had these on our 99 Grand Caravan for about a month now. We've had a full load in it with 7 adults and few other things. These were 7 large adults so there was still some bottoming out but NEARLY as bad as the old worn out shocks we had on there. When I took the old one's off, I could compress them with my arms and one of them never expanded, so they were pretty bad. So far I am very pleased... there was someone that mentioned some squeaking with these new shocks, when I first put them on and I would jump on the car a little, they squeaked, but now that we have put a few hundred miles on them they have stopped. It wasn't even very bad to begin with, you couldn't hear anything while you were driving anyway. My family members tell me I have sonar hearing, so I would be annoyed if I could hear a bunch of squeaking. Great buy!! I recommend them!!

2000 Grand Voyager with 79K miles and still original shocks. After reading the reviews and the price was right I decided to purchase the units. I followed the steps used by a reviewer MediaGuru to replace the shocks which took about 30 mins to complete the job. Tools needed was an 18mm socket(deep through better especially for the top bolt), ratchet and breaker bar 1/2 drive works best.
Shocks did raise the rear up about an 1 - 2 inches and it seem like a was no longer leaning back when sitting in the van. No bottoming out on bumps and body role has been reduce to a minimum. I thing the remainder body roll is coming from the front. |
